Bollywood Action Star Akshay Kumar unbuttons his jeans for Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani’s show for Levi’s was spectacular. Twinkle Khanna and Anu Dewan were among the guests. The show was sexy and made for a great watch featuring models Indrani Mukerjea, Moni Dutta, Waluscha Robinson, Diana Penty, Mashoom Singha and many others. Either these girls have amazingly thin legs or it was the slimming effect of the skinny jeans. The hair was straightened and pumps and peep toes comprised the footwear. There was a fair bit of cleavage on display which made the boys very happy! Different hues of blue, white, black, charcoal, mauve, orange, indigo, browns, grey, gold, turquoise formed the colour palette. Prints comprised lots of paisley and paisley and Chintz prints embedded in the jeans fabric. Tie and dye prints were also seen. The drapes of the tops were beautiful. Some tops and jeans had lots of shimmer and shine on them while others were subtle. Velvet and corduroy was also used. Georgette, silk, cotton, denim, jersey were among the fabrics. The various j

Akshay Kumar's '8X10' release in trouble

The release of "8X10 Tasveer", an Akshay Kumar-starrer supernatural thriller, is in trouble over a financial clash between the movie's co-producers, Percept Picture Company and T-Series. On March 4, 2009, the co-producers signed an agreement according to which T-Series would walk out of the film and take back the money (50 percent of the total agreed cost it had put in the film), if the money was paid by Percept on time through post-dated cheques, said a statement by T-Series. The walkout decision by T-Series was a "business decision by both the parties", said Vinod Bhanushali, T-Series president, marketing media publishing (TV). While Percept's first payment of Rs.50 lakh was received by T-Series, the second and final cheque of around Rs.6.67 crore was dishonoured by the bank, the statement said. "They were supposed to pay us as per a contract signed by both, and since the cheque for the final amount has bounced, we are legally again the co-producers o

Hrithik Roshan’s New Dance 9.5 on 10’

says Sandip Soparrkar, who choreographed the actor in Kites YOU’D imagine salsa exponent Sandip Soparrkar to be an obvious choice to choreograph for Anurag Basu’s Kites, in which Hrithik Roshan plays a salsa instructor. But Sandip bagged the project rather late. “I came on board only in January. When I got to know a film on salsa was being made, I told Anurag I’d love to be a part of it. But at that point, he said he’d get back to me,” says Sandip. He did and Sandip’s dream came true. “It was my dream to choreograph Hrithik and Madhuri Dixit. One of them came true. It took me half a second to teach Hrithik the basics of salsa. His knee was hurt before we shot, but he didn’t let it hamper his work. It takes time for everybody to pick up salsa, but not Hrithik. If Jackie Chan, whom I have choreographed in The Myth, is an eight on ten, Hrithik is a nine-and-a-half on ten,” gushes Sandip. American choreographer Flexy Stu, who worked with Hrithik for a biscuit ad, was originally approached

Get ready for Jaane Tu...sequel

Abbas Tyrewala’s Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na bestowed Genelia D’Souza with all that an actress could wish for. But, that’s not all; he will soon be making a sequel to the teenybopper film. Giving us a peak into the film, Abbas Tyrewala says, “It starts with Jai (Imran Khan) and Aditi (Genelia D’Souza) having problems in their marriage. They are on the verge of a divorce after Jai ends up drunk and having a onenight-stand.” This validates Genelia’s participation in the sequel and she is on cloud nine. “A film like Jaane Tu doesn’t happen every day,” says Genelia, “It fell into my lap by chance. All of us in Jaane Tu have got busy. Everyone went their way. I’ve been working round the clock on my films and endorsements. But whenever I meet Abbas or Imran, we feel the same warmth that we felt during the making of the film. It would be fun for the whole team to be reunited.” However, Jaane Tu’s other gifted supporting players who played Imran and Genelia’s college friends haven’t found a si

Adhyayan Suman gets blackmailed

Bollywood actor Adhyayan Suman too was keen to launch his website, but the actor couldn’t do so. Reason? Someone in New Zealand had already launched a website using his name when he started filming for Raaz — The Mystery Continues. When Adhyayan’s publicist tried to buy the domain from him, the guy quoted a huge sum. Realising that the negotiations could take long and would prove to be an expensive deal, Adhyayan decided to opt for another name for his website. Says Adhyayan, “It’s important to have a website because it’s the easiest way to communicate accurate information that’s very accessible. But getting into deals with someone who owns your domain can be troublesome. It does make me furious, but I guess we can try some other options and beat these guys at their game.”

Shahid Kapoor replaced Saif Ali Khan

A lot has been said about Shahid Kapoor’s double role in Kaminey, his mean streak, dark shades, et al. But sorry to break your heart dearies, little do you know that at very the onset this role wasn’t even meant for Shahid at all. Yep, our sources revealed that Vishal Bharadwaj had initially discussed the role with none than Saif Ali Khan. And our dude was raring to go all over again, but after much thought Vishal zeroed in on the younger SK. Well, Vishal is very fond of Kareena Kapoor, and he thinks highly of Saif as an actor, so one would assume that the Khan man would be his first choice, right? Nah, for while all of Vishal’s friendships, favourites and films may have their own place; he’s very particular about his scripts and casting. Firstly he realised a younger actor would fit the role better; secondly, Shahid came with a chocolate-boy-look, and that was exactly the challenge Vishal was looking for. To turn around a sweet Shahid into a shrewd Shahid, just like he transformed the

A whole new Salman Khan

Salman Khan has lost oodles of weight and his lovely charm is back on his face. Those who saw him at Amrita Arora’s wedding were awestruck by his slim physique, thanks to his limited connection with smoking and drinking these days. However some girls still like Sallu, as the good ‘ol large chested man, to which Sallu replies, “But I’m large hearted, so how does it matter?”

Imran Khan wants to be a woman in next janam

And women are truly going places. Ninety per cent of the interviews I’ve given have been to female journalists.” Imran is happy that all his friends are excited about his theater debut, “They are all coming to root for me. Not a single person was taken aback at my decision. I think that says a lot about people’s mindsets. It’s an ongoing experience of learning for me. Farhan Akhtar gives Shilpa Shetty lessons in cricket management

Bollywoods Multi-faceted star Farhan Akhtar pulled off a joke on actress Shilpa Shetty by gifting her a book titled How To Manage A Cricket Team Without Creating Controversy authored by former Indian coach Greg Chappell. Considering Shilpa has recently joined the bandwagon of actresses taking part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with her boyfriend Raj Kundra buying a stake in the Rajasthan Royals, the actor-filmmaker-singer presented the book to her on his talk show Oye! It's Friday. "Both Farhan and Shilpa are very bindaas (fun-loving and carefree) people. And with Shilpa having joined the IPL this year, Farhan made a little joke out of it by giving this book," a source from the unit told IANS. So the actress wants to devote extra time and thought to the projects. "This year I would like to allocate time to big films. Photo Credit: Universal Media, Rumors that Hrithik Roshan will promote the Rajasthan Royals have been put to rest by his spokesperson from Carving Dreams. In fact he will not be a part of IPL at all this year because he is busy completing shooting for Kites. He has been busy shooting for his home production 'Kites' which still has one short schedule pending and has hence excused himself from all IPL promotions this year." clarifies his spokesperson from Caving Dreams. Last year Hrithik shook his leg in the Mumbai India team's video Duniya Hila Denge. Unfortunately the team did not even make it to the semifinals. Shilpa Shetty and her beau hold stake in the Rajasthan Royals and s

'Slumdog' kids turn models at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

Deepika Padukone sizzles on ramp

It’s a model arrangement – with so many models making the jump to films, the Bollywood showstopper at designers’ shows already knows the ropes. And Deepika Padukone, who walked the ramp for Tarun Tahiliani at the Delhi Fashion Week, was in her element. The looker was a natural on the ramp, and she felt at home on it, too. “Delhi is the hub of fashion and where I started modelling,” she said. So, has a lot changed since her days as a model? “The scene backstage was almost the same. The only new thing was the many international faces, which is encouraging,” she says. Deepika is now based in Mumbai, but she’s all for Delhi designers. “The clothes that they make are wearable and very creative,” she says. Maybe that’s why she’s coming back to walk the ramp again this week – at the Wills Lifestyle India fashion Week, for Ranna Gill and Rina Dhaka, and she says she’s going to catch up with friends in Delhi.

But if variety is the spice of life, Basu wants hers to be spicier. She wants to kill some ‘Bills’ now. Nah, this has nothing to do with recession, instead it has everything to do with daredevil acts in the movies. The girl wants to do an action flick ala Kill Bill, and is desperately looking out for an action-packed flick that’s going to give her scope to flex those lovely legs of hers. Bring it on, Bips.

She’s great to work with. She’s normal. It’s hard to find normal people these days! You were injured while shooting for this film. Have you recovered completely? Every third day I am hurt (shows a gaping cut on his finger). Tell us more about your role in the film? Okay, I play the role of Viraj, who loves cricket. Then an incident happens in his life that lands him in prison. When I read the first draft of the script written by Renzil D’Silva, I immediately knew that this was the kind of role I always wanted to do. When I came to know that David Dhawan was directing the film, I knew that this would

Bollywood Movie Kambakht Ishq gets A rating by censor

Sajid Nadiadwala’s magnum opus Kambakht Ishq starring Kareena kapoor, Akshay Kumar , Carmen Electra, Sylvester Stallone and some other Hollywood stars have been given an A rating by Censor Board as they did not find it fit enough to be aired on TV. Regional Officer, Censor Boards, Vinayak Azad says, “Yes, we have given the promos an A Certificate because of which it can’t be shown on television.” He adds, “Kareena calls Akshay a dog and in turn he calls her a bitch. Apart from this scene, there is also a line indicating that women are only meant for making love. I found that very inappropriate, because in a promo you can’t understand the context of the scene as we have not yet seen the film.”

Bollywood Beauti Sonam Kapoor: "I'd never date a Film star"

Bollywood Actress Sonam Kapoor was once upon a time linked to ‘good friend’ Ranbir Kapoor, who is now dating Deepika Padukone. Good for ‘em, we say, but all this mix-n-match seems to have got Sonam Kapoor thinking on a different track. “I don’t believe that you need a man to complete you. You need to be independent first... Also, I’d never date a film star as then we’d never have time for each other then...” Now now now, it’s all about making the time Sonu. We think it’s time for the gorgeous actor not only to start dating but also ponder on the age-old adages, especially the one that reads ‘Never say never, dahling!’

Money talks...Right Abhishek Bachchan

That Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Ambani are best friends is a well known fact. That the Ambanis are especially fond of Abhishek Bachchan is also widely known. In an interview last year, Abhishek had gone ahead to say that “Anil uncle and Tina aunty are my family. I’m always there for them.” So it came as a shocking surprise to advertising circles when Abhishek chose to endorse Aditya Birla Group’s Idea Cellular instead of Anil’s Reliance mobile. A trade source confirms that both Reliance and Idea wanted the actor as their brand ambassador; however, the actor signed the dotted line with Idea because he was reportedly paid Rs 15 crore for the deal. We sent a message to Abhishek asking him if what we heard was true, he chose to ignore us. A source from the advertising industry though insists that, “Abhishek has already done the BIG 92.7 FM commercial for Anil Ambani’s company and they share the best of relations. But then the Bachchans also share a fantastic rapport with Kumar Mangalam Birl

Abhishek said that when there are disagreements with wifey Aishwarya he is the first to make up. He said, “There is no shame in saying sorry. I am not the kind of person who thinks you lose face when you apologise. Accept the fact that women are superior beings and the superior species. We men are nothing. So don't ever mess with women.
