Bollywood Actress Madhuri Dixit has finally been signed on for the film Satte Pe Satta remake, which is co-produced by Actor Sanjay Dutt. It’s been ages since the two have worked together and no one could have ever thought that Sanjay and Madhuri will share screen space again. Sanjay, who was very keen to have Aishwarya in the film, asked Madhuri to step in because director Soham Shah wanted her. While announcing the film, Soham is quoted as saying, “I was always keen on Madhuri playing Hema Malini’s role in my remake…Looks like someone up there was listening because Dhillin Mehta and Baba (Sanjay) who are co-producers sent Madhuri a message. I sent her the script and I was ecstatic when she agreed.” Now, the movie will go on floors soon. Bollywood Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali says that he is “obsessed” with Bollywood Actress Madhuri Dixit, perhaps even more than M F Hussain. “In my every film I wanted to direct Madhuri… right from ‘Khamoshi’ to this date. I am obsessed with her. No other director is as obsessed as me about Madhuri,” Bhansali told. Madhuri essayed the role of Chandramukhi in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ (2002). “I waited for two-and-half years during ‘Khamoshi’ at her door to ask her to read the script but I couldn’t get through to her. So I made the film without her. During ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ also I tried but it did not happen. Then I ensured that in ‘Devdas’ Madhuri was there,” the 48-year-old director said. “When we were doing the film she called saying she was getting married and asked if I (still) wanted her in film. While the world is abuzz with reports of Bollywood Actress Madhuri Dixit having been signed on to play Indira Gandhi in Krishna Shah's film on the political icon, the Dhak Dhak woman said she hasn't made up her mind yet. "Yes, Shah did meet me [at Madhuri Dixit's residence in Denver, USA], with the script. I read it and I am really impressed with the research he has done. I consider Indira Gandhi my idol, so it would be a privilege to play her. "But I haven't agreed yet as I need to sort out a lot of other issues. My secretary, Rikku Rakeshnath, is figuring that out." Shah is so keen on casting Dixit that he took a computer imaging of the actress as Indira Gandhi with him when he went to meet her. Reports of Shah approaching Hollywood stars like Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones for the film are also doing the rounds. The director reportedly plans to approach actor Abhay Deol to play Rajiv Gandhi. However, they were not successful in getting a nanny on the show to take care of her two sons, 24/7. Hence Madhuri decided to let the offer go. Having hosted a wedding show several years ago, this would have been a comeback for Madhuri Dixit on television. But given her priorities, she had first laid down the condition that the channel should arrange for a nanny who would stay on the sets with her children. When this condition was not fulfilled Mads left the show. Now Rani Mukerji has been called to take her place. After the failure of “Dil Bole Hadippa”, Rani does not have many projects. Denver homemaker and mother of two sons, Madhuri Dixit is back in India's vibrant movie industry after a five-year break with a film centered around her forte — dancing. "It makes me a little nervous whether people will accept me again," Dixit said ahead of the worldwide release of her new movie "Aaja Nachle," or "Come Let's Dance," on Nov. 30.
