Movie Review - Raaz 3

Raaz 3 - Movie review Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Bipasha Basu Directed by Vikram Bhatt Rating: **. The world is made of up of good and evil forces. Aatmas and Parmatmas. Those with chalk-smeared faces and those who merely appear as blinding lights and speak with an echo. But none of them can be immortal enough to live through a show of 'Raaz 3'. The prospect of getting horrified in three-dimension could be promising. But Indian horror films, as pioneered by the Ramsays, have rarely gone beyond junior artists in Halloween costumes grunting like death-metal vocalists. Here you have just that, and perhaps a few mouth-to-mouth adventures and some Kentucky fried frights. Yes, it is no raaz that you're up for some good ol' Bhatt kicking. Shanaya Shekhar (Bipasha Basu) whacks her five-inch lashes uncomfortably as she has just lost the best actress award to budding newcomer Sanjana Krishnan (Esha Gupta). Her obvious assumption: There is no God or he has better

Emraan Hashmi open to item numbers!

Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi is ready to grove to item songs but on one condition: it has to be unique and different from the rest. “The conventional item numbers are very boring. I don’t like the way they are presented. I will do something different,” he said. He also added jokingly, that if Dibakar Banerjee, his Shanghai director will cast him in an item number, he will take it up on the spot. Shanghai has changed people’s perception Emraan Hashmi. “‘Shanghai’ de-constructed perception that people had about me. A new Emraan Hashmi has been showcased. After this whatever role I play, it should be as unpredictable as this. I want to surprise the audience,” he told reporters. The actor also said, “‘Shanghai’ is very different. We have made a film which breaks convention.” Though the film did not start on a great note, Emraan says, “but the jump we got, the response I got on SMS and everything is a win-win situation for the entire team. This film needs your support so that more films

Emraan Hashmi in Johar’s Next !

There were days when Emraan Hashmi did only dark films, loads of love making and that too mainly for Mahesh Bhatt’s films. Emraan Hashmi will be seen in Karan Johar next production. A source close to the production house says, “After Kurbaan, Rensil D’Silva was supposed to make a film with Salman Khan in the lead role. However, with Salman’s 2012 calendar choc-a-bloc with the many projects he is currently filming, the filmmaker has decided to make another film in the meantime. The ensemble cast for this new project will have Emraan Hashmi in the lead role. The rest of the cast is still being finalized.” Adds the source, “Having delivered a string of hits, it is clear that Emraan has a massive fan following. The producers realize that Emraan is a big star in the industry today. And thus, Karan Johar and Rensil D’Silva have decided to work with him in their next project.” There hasn’t been any formal announcement and as of now everything else about the film is kept under wraps.

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Jee - Movie Review

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Jee - Movie Review Director: Madhur Bhandarkar Music: Pritam Cast: Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shazahn Padamsee, Shruti Hassan, Shradha Das, Tisca Chopra The last time I had so much fun watching a movie about three guy friends was a decade ago with Dil Chahata Hai. This time it’s National Award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar’s Dil Toh Bacha Hai Jee. Well, there is nothing common between the two movies except for the fact that both the titles start with the word “Dil” and both the movies are about three male friends. Let me tell you the story very briefly. Naren (Ajay Devgn), a banker, is going through mid-life crisis in the middle of his impending divorce. He is head over heels in love with June (Shazahn Padamsee) who happens to be his junior at work and 17 years younger to him. As revealed by her that she was just 3 when he lost his “V” at 20. Abhay aka Abby (Emraan Hashmi) is an unemployed gym instructor and a “hardcore” womanizer. He plays

Emraan Hashmi's first intense love story

Emraan played a painter in the thriller "Raaz - The Mystery Continues" and he will once again essay the role in "Tum Miley". But Emraan Hashmi (pictured left) will this time get to actually paint to look convincing on screen. "This time I actually paint. In 'Raaz', I wasn't really able to do much of that. All the paintings were done beforehand and I didn't get a chance to paint on screen apart from a few strokes," Emraan told IANS. In "Tum Miley", Emran's newly-discovered painting skills will go a lot further. "I'm shown to be a far more intricate painter, doing not just brush painting but also charcoal, etc. Here I can't fake it. I'm using all the skills that I learnt as a painter in 'Raaz' for 'Tum Miley'," the actor explained. Emraan says he now seriously intends to pursue his painting. "And my character in 'Tum Miley' is helping me do that. It's my first intense love s

Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi ready for 'Raaz 3' and fatherhood

Emraan Hashmi's " Raaz 2 " has got an encouraging opening and actor Emraan Hashmi is all set to work in the third instalment of the spooky thriller. He also feels secure enough to start a family now. "We're trying for a baby and we should be parents by next year. One is never prepared for fatherhood. And if I wait to be fully prepared, it will never happen. But I'm getting into the mindset now," told Emraan Hashmi, who is married to Parveen Shahani. Talking about "Raaz 3", he said: "Yes we're on," said Emraan Hashmi. "The third part will also be directed by Mohit Suri and I'll play the lead. The rest of the details are yet to be decided. The cast of the second 'Raaz' film was totally new. And I think I'm going to be the only actor common to 'Raaz 2' and '3'." Emraan feels vindicated by the audiences' response to "Raaz 2", which also starred Kangana Ranaut and newco

Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi doesn’t find himself special

With a swashbuckling performance in Raaz TMC, Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi is the talk of the town, however the handsome lad is still grounded and doesn’t find any specialty in himself. He says, “Emraan Hashmi is not a very special person. I am just like any other individual. I am a common man with basic needs and wishes. I fear God and love him too and yes and I enjoy my success. I am basically an open book, what ever the world knows me for is the actual me. Anybody can read me. But not when I am sleeping (laughs). There is nothing hidden in me from the world.” Emraan Hashmi also talks about Raaz and says, “This movie is of great importance. Working in a horror movie was my dream. And now with RTMC , it has come true. I have not signed RTMC merely because it is a horror film. The script, the theme, the role and the concept were so new that I was all the more tempted to sign it. This movie stands incomparable in terms of horror flicks. It will prove as a benchmark for the other horro

Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi was kissed by a man

Well the serial kisser has kissed many leading ladies of his flick, but Emraan Hashmi narrates an experience where he was kissed by a man. Emraan Hashmi who is in Hyderabad to promote his Raaz TMC, reveals, “Hyderabad is an important destination for Bollywood. Weirdly though, I’ve had strange experiences here. The first time, I was kissed by a man, the next time by a girl and on my third trip, I was swooned by the cheerleaders of the local team!” The lover boy has also mellowed down on his kisses and says, “I’m consciously moving away from that image. I have brought down the passion in my kisses. It’s worked for me but…. Sometimes, it’s put for superstitious reasons!”

Bollywood Actor Emraan Hashmi is no more a serial kisser

Once referred to as the series kisser of Bollywood, Emraan has come of age. He has finally abandoned (temporarily) his romantic side and taken on the job of scaring people out of their wits. "Today if people call me a serial kisser I find it really humorous. I have left that image long ago. If you see my recent films, I haven't done any such role. Now I am very selective about my roles," he says. His most recent selection is Mohit Suri's Raaz 2, where he plays a painter whose paintings decide to haunt their subject. emraan hashmi says he enjoys scaring his fans and it is for this purpose only that he took up Raaz 2. He says, "It's good fun to scare people. I've wanted to do a horror film and Raaz 2 is just like a dream come true. There are risk factors involved in anything new we do but I love taking challenges. I think I have an exciting role in the film." emraan hashmi is quite hopeful that his film will set a new trend in Bollywood. He says, "

emraan hashmi turns a painter after Raaz - The Mystery Continues

emraan hashmi will be seen portraying the role of a painter in the sequel of Raaz - The Mystery Continues , but little is known that the actor has turned into a painter in real life too. For the movie he was trained by Sailesh Achrekar and learnt different strokes and techniques of painting. Emraan hashmi says, “Before shooting for Raaz, I was training under Sailesh Achrekar. Mohit (Suri; Raaz 2 director) wanted a character similar to Sailesh. During this course, I started to learn to paint using various techniques, which I was not even aware of. Through the lessons, I learnt to sketch with charcoal, pencils, work with oil paints and use different tools for effect such as knives and sponges.” The entire process of painting rejuvenates me and is a complete stress-buster. It is just the start and I am not a pro at it but I’m trying to get better with every portrait. With any form of art, you need practice. You have to trust it, offer something your best and then step back to see what i

Adhyayan Suman Celebrates His Birthday

Bollywood Actor Adhyayan Suman who awaits his second release Raaz- The Mystery Continues had one too many reasons to rejoice on his birthday. The first reason is that dear daddy Suman had a fancy gift for his son this year - a brand new BMW that he handed over to his son in full media glare. The next being Mahesh Bhatt hosting a lavish b’day bash for his hero the following day. He cut the cake in the presence of his baap Shekhar Suman , mai-baap Mahesh Bhatt and his girlfriend Kangana Ranaut . Adhyayan was also happy because his daddy Suman has sorted his differences with his current love Kangana and all is well at the Suman front… except for of course - Shekhar Suman’s dress sense… Will someone please advise the old man to dress his age!!!

Raaz The Mystery Continues Music Review

Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh films and Emraan Hashmi have become synonymous with great music and chartbuster numbers. We’ve seen it in back then in Sadak, Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin, Raaz, Inteha, Paap, then Kalyug, Gangster, Awarapann, Woh Lamhe, and Jannat recently. When the music of RaazTMC released people expected a chartbuster album from the Bhatts again… only to be disappointed. Too many cooks spoil the broth, the same way too many music directors spoiled the album. Wonder why the Bhatts did not give the whole album to our good old Pritam instead of Raju Singh, Toshi-Sharib, Pranay and Gaurav Das. There are 5 tracks in the album and 2 are remixes. Toshi Saberi’s Mahi Ve and Banda Re are the only two attractive songs of the album. Mahi Ve is already up the charts. All the other tracks on the album are average and very forgettable. Soniyo is pleasant but you may not remember the song a couple of hours later. Kaisa Yeh Raaz

Kangana & Adhyayan - Romance in the vanity van?

It was too much for Emraan Hashmi and he stormed out of the sets of ‘ Raaz 2 ’ when he was kept waiting on the sets while Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman were locked in their vanity van. The duo had been there for about two hours despite the fact that they were required for the shoot. Initially, Emraan waited patiently for them. Director Mohit Suri also sent some production guys to knock on the vanity van’s door to remind them of the shoot. But when the wait stretched for over two hours, Emraan was fuming and unstoppable. He abandoned the sets leaving the shoot in a huff. When Kangana and Adhyayan realized their folly, they were embarrassed and apologized profusely but Emraan had already left the sets.

Bollywood's price war

Acting pricey : The success of Jannat has provided a new boost to Emraan Hashmi 's sagging filmy career. The actor hiked his price from an estimated Rs 1.5 crores to Rs 5 crores.

Emraan Hashmi ups his price

The success of the Bhatts' Jannat released right in the middle of stiff competition from the IPL matches has shocked one and all. So, wasting no time at all the film's leading man Emraan Hashmi has hiked his price from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 5 crores. "And why not?" Emraan argues happily. "Equations change every Friday. The sun has started shining for me. I seem to have had a solo hit at a time when only Akshay Kumar and the Khans seem to be getting the audiences in," he said. "Ya, my price has gone up. I won't say drastically. Right now I can quote a higher price with some justification." Emraan has even backed out of a film that Warner Brothers was to produce in association with Tandav Films (of Khosla Ka Ghosla ). Emraan says his price also goes up for his mentors the Bhatts. "I haven't spoken to them about my price now that Jannat has done so well. But they've always been very fair as far as the price goes

Jannat revives cricket in Bollywood

Barring a select few like Lagaan and Chak De! India , movies based on the sports theme have hardly clicked at the box-office. But the Emraan Hashmi starrer Jannat , about match fixing in cricket, has proved the world wrong. Released with 317 prints on 700 screens across the country, the film produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt has completed two weeks and in Mumbai alone it has garnered more than Rs 20.5 million. The film's all India collection is about Rs 200 million and the movie has already made profits, considering that it was made on a modest budget of Rs 100 million. Approaching the third week of its run in 47 cinemas in Mumbai, it continues to draw house-full crowds. Ashok Ahuja, director of Percept Picture Company which is the distributor of the film, gave credit to the marketing strategy for its success. "The out of the box marketing strategy has played an important role in the success of the film. Though it had only one star, we changed the perception of the fi
