AR Rahman's Daughter Hospitalized

AR Rahman - Bollywood-News.IN Bollywood Music Master AR Rahman’s daughter has been admitted to the Asian Heart Hospital in Bandra following cardiac problems. Docters say that there is nothing much to worry about as she is fast recovering. “For the past three nights I have exclusively been playing the role of a loving father, with no music, nothing. I want to sincerely thank all my friends and family members for their prayers and good wishes,” Rahman posted on his Twitter page. “God has been kind and Raheema is recovering fast. I also want to thank all my friends from the media for their support and for respecting our privacy,” he added. 11-year-old Raheema was operated upon by doctors on Wednesday night. A.R. Rahman get two Grammy awards

Award Winning Music Director A.R. Rahman has made India proud for the second time. He has bagged two Grammy Awards for his composition ‘Jai Ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire’. A.R. A.R. Rahman gets honorary doctorate

Following his two Oscars, it is the third doctorate for him Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Chandrayaan project director M. Annadurai were on Saturday (August 1) conferred with honorary doctorates by Anna University in Chennai. Governor and university chancellor Surjit Singh Barnala gave away the honourary degrees at a special convocation. The degrees were conferred on Rahman and Annadurai for their achievements in the realm of music and space technology respectively and on Stalin for his contribution to the state's administration, Anna University Vice Chancellor P. Bollywood Director Madhur Bhandarkar thrilled she sung for his ‘Jail’ Lata Mangeshkar sang "Ae malik tere bande hum", a song that inspired prisoners in V. Shantaram's film "Do Aankhen Barah Haath" in 1957. Now Madhur Bhandarkar has the singing legend render a new-age 'prison anthem' in his latest movie "Jail". "We want Lata-ji's 'Daata sun maula sun' to be the new-age 'Ae maalik tere bande hum'. We want youngsters to embrace it and get to know the endless magic of Lata-ji's art. It has the potential to be hummed and sung in schools and colleges for all times to come," Bhandarkar told IANS. Bollywood Director Mahesh Bhatt is widely known in the industry for his bold and thought provoking comments and now the director has given his take on Oscar nominated Slumdog Millionaire insisting that SM is not A.R Rahman’s best work. He says, ‘’If you see his work in the past, he has produced such a quality product that it shouldn’t even take a minute to award this legend. His music in TAAL, RANG DE BASANTI or even LAGAAN, which was nominated for the Oscars, stood nowhere in eyes of the Oscars’ Jury. However, when his music has a white connection, it comes to the priority list of the awards. Why? So is it that we Indians are incapable of making it to Oscars? Bollywood movie Slumdog Millionaire success story continues

Bollywood movie Slumdog Millionaire, the rags-to-riches tale set in Mumbai, topped its Hollywood success today with Oscar recognition.
