Bollywood recognised me post Big Boss: Ravi

Ravi Kishan. Well folks, 2008 may add a dash of Bhojpuri flavour to the Bollywood flicks! Hold on, we’ll tell you what we mean by that. The uncrowned king of Bhojpuri cinema – Ravi Kishan –is all set to make his presence felt in Bollywood this year! His kitty is brimming with interesting roles, big banners and equally big co-stars. Talking to KT about how he got the role in Ganesh Acharya's Money Hai To Honey Hai, Kishan informs, “Ganeshji is my mentor. It is from him that I learnt dancing. It was he who approached me for the movie. I play the role of a millionaire called Vimal while Govinda, Manoj Bajpai, Aftab and Upen Patel are all playing conmen. The movie is about how all of them land in Mauritius and dupe this millionaire. It is a humorous movie and we had lots of fun during its shooting.” Carrying on in the same vein, Ravi adds, “Besides Money Hai To Honey Hai I am working in a movie called Luck with Sanjay Dutt in which I play the role of a psycho...

Upen Patel steps into Salman's shoes

Everyone is talking about Upen Patel's daredevil act at the Zee Awards at London on Saturday evening. Speaking from London, Upen explains, "I was actually asked to step into Salman Khan's act at the last minute. Believe it or not, I had just one hour to rehearse! One hour! I don't know how I managed it." But the response Upen got from his fellow-Londoners was unimaginable. "London is my home. And to perform there was a dream come true for me. My mom, my sister and my entire family watched me. They had a planned a lavish act with Salman with motorbikes on stages and everything."So what gives? "Salman, I'm told, couldn't come for his performance because of a torn ligament. I happily agreed to be a last-minute replacement because I didn't want them to incur losses. Why wouldn't I want to step in for Salman? He's a rock star. Besides, they altered Salman's act to suit my personality. Initially, I was supposed to dance to two son...

Upen Patel didn’t mind stepping in for Salman

Mumbai, May 1 (IANS) Everyone is talking about actor Upen Patel’s daredevil act at the Zee awards function in London, but the actor says it was originally designed for Bollywood star Salman Khan. “I was actually asked to step into Salman Khan’s act at the last minute. Believe it or not, I had just one hour to rehearse! I don’t know how I managed it,” Upen, who featured in films like “36 China Town” and “Namastey London”, told IANS. “Salman, I’m told, couldn’t come for his performance because of a torn ligament. I happily agreed to be a last-minute replacement because I didn’t want them to incur losses. Why wouldn’t I want to step in for Salman? He’s a rock star. Besides, they altered Salman’s act to suit my personality. “Initially, I was supposed to dance to two songs from ‘Partner’. But when I stepped in, they re-structured the intro with bits of my songs from ‘36 China Town’ and ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’ to begin the act.” The response Upen got from his fellow-Londoners on the Saturday...

Hot pics - Upen Patel and Deepika Padukone

Suddenly, all the entertainment world seems to be flooded by steamy pictures of Deepika Padukone with Upen Patel. These pictures, which are apparently some three years old had been taken as a part of some photoshoot. The question here is: Why are they all over the net now? It could be some prank from a naughty mind. Some also blame Upen for it saying that since Deepika is a hot property now, he has deliberately released these pics as a part of cheap publicity and to revive the rumours of him and Deepika. Says a source close to Deepika, “Why are these pictures coming out now? After three years? Right now Deepika is hot property; it can’t be a co-incidence that these pictures are suddenly popping up in everyone’s mailboxes.” Upen has defended the allegations by being blissfully aware, “The pictures are something from the past. I don’t even remember them, if you know what I mean. I did some photo shoot with her for Wendell many years ago. Who ever is behind spreading these pictures has ...

One Two Three Movie Review

Did you ever see the comedy serial Office Office, yeah the same comedy serial who consecutively won the award for best comedy sitcom year after year. What happens when the person behind Office Office comes out with his first directorial debut movie. You expect a blast, but then Ashwani Dhir’s One Two Three not only blasts but also buries your expectations. While going out for One Two Three, keep in mind to open up your head, squeeze out your brain and stuff some hay into your empty head, because for the next three hours what you see is complete nonsense. The dialogues are good, the lifted witty one-liners were ok but the script lacked the punch.
