Review of What's Your Raashee?

The first thing I would like to make clear is the What's Your Raashee is nothing like Ashutosh Gowariker's usual work. If you're expecting another Lagaan or Jodhaa Akbar , you will be sorely disappointed. This movie is much more off-the-wall and humorous than those serious films. If you can't handle lack of realism, something Bollywood is pretty much known for, then What's Your Raashee is definitely not for you. There's very little reason given as to why all 12 girls look the same, you just have to take it as it comes. Yogesh Patel (Harman Baweja) seems to be destined to marry on the 20th of the month, as predicted by an astrologer, and it is also predicted that marriage will bring him a lot of wealth! In fact, Yogesh's grandfather has signed an agreement bequeathing all of his land and property to Yogesh once he gets married, for Yogesh is his favourite grandson and a kind-hearted boy. The father immediately decides that they should lure their son Yogesh...

Priyanka Chopra to set Guinness Record in Guinness Book of World Records

Essaying 12 different characters in priyanka chopra's movie Whats your Rashee ? Priyanka Chopra is to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest number of characters ever played. “Maine iss film mein mera khoon pasina bahaya hai!”said Priyanka Chopra when quizzed about taking up the challenge of playing not one but 12 characters in the Ashutosh Gowarikar film . Also starring Harman Baweja, the film is inspired from a Gujarati novel called Kimball Ravenswood by Shri Madhu Rye. Based on the 12 sunsigns, Priyanka Chopra has essayed all 12 rashee’s each as different and unique as the other. One of the sunsigns has her playing a 12 year old girl and she has defined it as her toughest role to play as yet. “I have used no prosthetics, its just my body language and styling that has helped me mould into these characters” she added. Priyanka Chopra beat the talented Kamal Haasan by two characters, as Haasan essayed 10 characters in Dashvataram along with Sanjeev Kumar and Siv...

‘What’s Your Raashee?’ - First look

See Priyanka Chopra in her 12 roles Take a look at the just-released poster of Ashutosh Gowariker’s first romantic comedy “What’s Your Raashee?”, starring Priyanka Chopra and Hurman Baweja. Priyanka plays 12 roles in the film, her most challenging till date. “What’s Your Raashee?” is the story of Yogesh Patel, a young man who in his heart has always wanted a love marriage. Suddenly he is told that he must find his dream girl within ten days to save his family from ruin. Finding the dream girl is tough enough. Finding her in a hurry is even tougher. His solution is simple, he will meet one girl from each raashee – sun sign, as he feels that is the best way to make sure he finds a suitable wife, while also giving himself 12 chances to fall in love. Two meetings per day gives him six days to meet them, three days to make a final decision and he can get married on the tenth day, or so he thinks. Based on the Gujarati novel "Kimball Ravenswood" by Madhu Rye, "What’s Your Raas...

Bollywood New Movie 'Victory' in Colombo

Bollywood New Movie "Victory," which has a cricket theme, had its global premiere in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on Friday, a co-producer said. Shot in India, Sri Lanka, Australia and Pakistan, "Victory" centres around a father who dreams his young son, Vijay Shekhawat, will rise from a small village in Rajasthan to play for the Indian cricket team. "The film combines what Indians love best -- cricket, music and Bollywood movies," said Sri Lankan producer Chandran Rutnam, who handled the Colombo leg of the shooting. The star-studded cast includes Bollywood big names such as Hurman Baweja (who plays Vijay Shekhawat), Amrita Rao and Gulshan Grover. But the biggest draw is some 60 international cricketers including Brett Lee, Harbhajan Singh, Atul Wassan, Dinesh Kartik, Mike Hussey, Shoaib Malik, Sanath Jayasuriya and Muttiah Muralitharan, Rutnam said. "The international cricketers playing themselves gives an authentic feel to the film," he to...

Who'll dance away to glory - Hrithik Roshan or Harman Baweja?

It is no news when Harman Baweja is compared to Hrithik Roshan. The latest is that Harman's dance number in his forthcoming Victory and Hrithik Roshan's song in Luck By Chance are said to be similar. So not only will the actors clash at the box office but will also be compared for their dance numbers in the film. Hrithik is doing a special appearance in a song number in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance and that too in a dance number. The song has been shot in circus sequence. Hrithik has already made it to the top. While Hrithik is said to be the best dancer in bollywood. The film is being directed by debutant director Zoya Akhtar While Harman Baweja is no less, when compared to his dancing capabilities. The actor it is said has already garnered a lot of interest with his two song numbers in the film. 'Balla utha chaka laga' has been the most downloaded song number where as 'money money' has also garnered a lot of publicity. This will be Harman's second film...

Harman Baweja’s Brett Lee experience

Bollywood: Harman Baweja enjoyed his experience with Brett Lee, the newbie apparently faced the thunderous bowling of Brett Lee and also shared some good talk with him. When asked, You actually faced Brett Lee? Initially we thought we’d ask Brett to bowl as if he is bowling to an amateur but it didn’t look real. So I did face his natural bowling… Phew! What was your off-the-field conversation with the Aussies? “They were amused of retakes. They didn’t understand retakes. After a scene when the director would go ‘one more’, Stuart Clarke would question ‘Mate, what is one more’ and ‘Why couldn’t you have ten cameras placed on the ground, the way they have it during matches’? We told him we want a particular angle. The Australians are actually nice guys, unlike the perception we have. It’s just that they are extremely passionate about the sport. Brett and I used to talk about women, women in swim wear, in swimming pools, on the beaches etc.....

Harman Baweja Plays With Real Cricketers in Victory

Harman Baweja is all geared up for his next film Victory where he plays a small town boy who works hard to fulfill his dream of playing for the Indian cricket team. “It’s almost a realistic film, almost like an autobiography on a cricket,” he said at the inauguration party of 9th Fame Cinema theatres in Mumbai on Friday. Apart from Amrita Rao and Anupam Kher we’ll get to see real cricketers like Brett Lee, Shoaib Mallik, Sanath Jaisurya, Mike Hussey, Dinesh Kartik and Harbhajan Singh playing themselves for the first time on the silver screen. “Bhajji is someone I hit it off with. We both are Punjabi boys so we took off on the full sarson da saag makke di roti conversation. But over all cricketers, like all of us are completely normal guys. So the only thing that I admire is that somewhere they play for their country and I think it’s commendable,” he said. All the best for Victory Harman, I wish in this film you look more like yourself rather than a distorted clone of Hrithik Roshan.

Pappu can fight saala

Bollywood scribes are already terming the recent spat between superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan as the ‘story of the year.’ For the uninitiated (though with 24X7 electronic media carpet-bombing, they’re a rarity), it all happened at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash in a suburban Mumbai hotspot. Apparently banter between the two Khans turned ugly when professional comparisons regarding their television shows cropped up — the numbers of SRK’s Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain have not met expectations, while Salman’s 10 Ka Dum has got a favourable response. Tabloids tell us that the heated discussion took a turn for the worse when SRK allegedly made an inappropriate comment about Salman’s ex-girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai. But it’s not just the two warring Khans — the normally reticent Amitabh Bachchan recently blogged about “being privy personally to a design by certain sections of the media and the fraternity to bring down” his world tour, The Unforgettables . Meanwhile, in an unp...

Bret Lee in form for Bollywood debut

Australian speedster Brett Lee is geared up to showcase his cricket ing skills on the big screen with his Bollywood debut in Manmohan Shetty’s “Victory”. Lee would be playing himself in the movie . “Working in the movie was fun because I just got to play myself. I enjoyed the whole experience,” Lee said on the sidelines of an event here Monday. Sharing his on-shoot experiences, he added: “We used to play a lot of cricket on the sets and my co-stars got many cricketing tips from me.” “Victory” is the story of a small-town cricketer played by Harman Baweja who makes it big in the international cricket scene. He is helped by Lee in the movie to realise his dreams. Other Australian players - Michael Hussey , Brad Hogg and Stuart Clark will also share screen space in the movie for the first time along with Lee. Apart from claiming wickets, Lee shares a passion for music . He also did a song and music video for legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s album “Asha and friends”. “I am a music lo...

‘I am glad Bebo left the film’

THE SEXY actor Priyanka Chopra is in a league of her own. The ex-Miss World has done all kinds of roles ranging from comedy to action. She is once again in news for her recent ‘futuristic’ film. In an exclusive interview, Priyanka gets talking about her latest movie, her chemistry with the Hrithik lookalike Harman Baweja and more... Earlier this film had been signed by Kareena Kapoor and then she walked out... I think I was lucky, and I am glad and thankful to Kareena that she left the movie. She did sign the film but left it later citing dates problems. Some people say it is a remake of Hollywood movie Back To the Future . No, it’s a different concept altogether. You bond quite well with your co-star both on and off-screen. How was it working with Harman? It was great. Although he is a newcomer, his acting skills are remarkable. I really enjoyed working with him. He is a very good person too. Sometimes he is funny and sometimes he is very naughty. I hope to work with him again....

Will Jaane Tu …be a super duper hit?

: Will Jaane Tu …Ya Jaane Na be a super duper hit? To be fair when it was launched a week ago with a modest budget of just around Ra 10 crore. No on gave it much chance. No great star cast, no big budget that has become a hallmark of Indian cinema these days. And to top it all what most saw as the biggest threat to its chances of success was the fact that it had to compete with a Rs 50 crore budget film. Harry Baweja’s son Harman Baweja was making his debut with ‘ Love Story 2050 ’. It had big budget, almost biggest budget than any film produced recently in Bollywood and a father mother duo of director producer who did everything in their capacity to make the film succeed. Aamir Khan production had released merely 450 prints of the film compared to 750 that Bawejas released of their film ‘Love Story 2050’. May be Aamir did not think of the film in very grand terms. May be it was because he was just trying to figure out the capabilities of his nephew Imran Khan as an actor. Bu...

With five films already in hand, Harman is nervous!

Harman Baweja, who debuts in the much-hyped futuristic film Love Story 2050 , admits that he's truly nervous about getting signed on by five top filmmakers even before his first film is out. The newcomer is the only debutant to have got five big banner projects in his kitty, including films by established directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker, Anees Bazmee and Manmohan Shetty. Harman is nervous and says there is already a lot of pressure to perform and live up to these ace directors' expectations. "These are such great filmmakers. They've just seen my first film's rushes... that is my baby step towards filmdom. Pressure increases manifold since it is happening even before my first release," the actor said. Harman revealed little-known facets about his personality like his passion for dance and how he had learnt Kathak for over a year. "I love dancing though I am not technically into it. Kamal Haasan's Tandav inspired me...

Harman - the kathak dancer

Harman Baweja might have a personality similar to Hrithik Roshan but while the superstar is a terrific dancer, Harman is a trained kathak dancer. And this fact was revealed by none other than his leading lady from Love Story 2050 , Priyanka Chopra . In a recent interview, when Priyanka was asked when she first meet Harman, she answered, “I first met Harman at a Kathak dance class. Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif also had joined the same classes. I was just one film old during that time but it’s from there that we started to know each other.” While we could not speak to the Kathak dancer himself, his PR confirmed, “Yes, Harman is a trained Kathak dancer but he had learnt it just as a hobby and not for professional reasons. Whenever possible he does use kathak steps in his dance. He just loves dancing.” The Harman – Priyanka starrer Love Story 2050 is releasing on July 4.

'Love Story 2050' portrays true picture of future Mumbai: Harman Baweja

Love Story 2050 , set for release on July 4, will depict the ''true picture'' of the Mumbai metropolis, including how it will look after more than four decades, claimed debutante hero of the Bollywood film Harman Baweja . Speaking at a function in Bangalore to announce the association of Sun Microsystems, which provided the technology platform for the movie, produced and directed by Harman 's father Harry Baweja , he claimed that the release was eagerly awaited throughout the country as it was the best sci-fi movie produced in India till date. ''We did our home work well as we have been working for nearly four years to put the theme on the screen. We toured 14 countries and 40 studios and shot more than 1,200 special effect shots, thanks to the platform provided by Sun to make the futuristic Mumbai look real,'' he said. He said the movie had been produced after consulting a number of builders to know their perception about Mumbai in 2050. '...

Harman Vs Imran

when the two most awaited stars hit the theatres making their spectacular entries. Ironically the two actors have the industry’s strongest people backing them. Imran Khan is the dark horse of Bollywood with Aamir Khan as his guide and mentor. The faithful uncle who has spent all his energies on making sure that nephew Imran gets the right break like Aamir was given by his uncle Nassir Hussein. Harman has the firm backing of his father who has spared nothing to make his son’s debut a spectacular success. Harman also has the added attraction of top actress and girlfriend Priyanka Chopra who has also been his guiding force throughout the film. Jaaane Tu Ya Jaane NaaImran Khan & Genelia D’Souza The movie which stars newcomer Imran Khan has the support, training and inputs from uncle Aamir Khan who has done everything in his power to ensure that nephew Imran lacks for nothing. Aamir who usually shies away from the Press has made his presence felt by attending all the events planned f...

BIG 92.7 FM , India’s No.1 FM Station announces its exclusive Radio partnership with ‘LOVE STORY 2050’ , a futuristic sci-fi love story presented by ADLABS FILMS and BAWEJA Movies. A racy love story, the film marks the debut of Harman Baweja supported by Bollywood bombshell Priyanka Chopra. Also starring in the film are Boman Irani and Archana Puran Singh among others. The film, which sees a world wide release on July 4th , would enthrall cine goers with visual effects no less than a Hollywood flick, specially designed by John Cox and Weta Workshop . Harman - A star is born

Harman Baweja ’s Love Story 2050 is yet to release. But considering the fan following he has already built for himself in Bangkok, we think the actor is already a star. Showcasing two tracks from their film, Priyanka and Harman had the audience eating out of their palms. The act began with Priyanka Chopra performing to her track from the film looking every bit of a pop star that she plays in Love Story 2050 . And then half way through her act we couldn’t see Priyanka on stage – she was raised high above on cables to make way for Harman ’s grand entry. For his first live performance and that too before the release of his debut film, this young lad had girls in the audiences sighing. Dancing magnificently, Harman looked a lot like Hrithik Roshan in his early days but probably only better. Clean steps, more fluidity and a well proportionate body only made him look a lot more ready for the top that Hrithik did in his Kaho na Pyaar Hai days.

Comparison to Hrithik unfair yet challenging: Harman Baweja

All set to make his Bollywood debut with the soon-to-be released film "Love Story 2050", actor Harman Baweja , who is said to bear a striking resemblance to superstar Hritik Roshan finds the comparisions "unfair", at the same time "challenging". "I am taking baby steps into the industry and am being compared to somebody who is a well established superstar. It is like asking for too much. The expectations are taxing for a newcomer like me", Harman told PTI here on Sunday. The actor who is debuting in his father's directorial venture releasing on July 4, said familiarity with the cast and crew of the film helped him feel at ease during the production. "The film being my home production, the concern of the unit for me was not superficial. This helped me ease the pressure. Besides, I have known Priyanka since three years before we began shooting for the film," he added. Disclosing that he had already been signed by several produce...

Is Harman the new Hrithik Roshan?

They look the same , dance the same , share the same height and their names begin with H . Is it any wonder that Harman Baweja is being called the new Hrithik Roshan . The similarities do not end there. They have each been introduced to the industry by their fathers and, remarkably, Harman ’s promotional shots and debut movie moves mimic Hrithik’s in a manner that makes it impossible to tell them apart. But Harman ’s not riding on the lookalike wave — he’s not too happy about being called the new Hrithik and girlfriend Priyanka has apparently made him change his wardrobe so he can be seen as his own man. Harman ’s laying the blame for this resemblance to Hrithik squarely on his parents. “If I resemble somebody, it’s not my fault. My mom and dad have done that. I have not done any plastic surgery to get those looks. I believe every newcomer will be compared [to somebody else],” he said practically. In fact, both Harman and Priyanka seem to have coordinated their responses, saying ...

Harman tries to shake off Hrithik jinx

Harman has been taking the comparisons with H rithik Roshan on his chin. At his music launch last week, when someone in audience shouted 'Hey Hrithik ', Harman smiled and said, "can't help the way I look. It's what my parents gave me". The ongoing comparisons between Hrithik Roshan and debutant Harman Baweja are now being nipped in the bud. The Bawejas have decided to avert any more comparisons with the Krissh star and also to curb the unnecessary digs at Harman's glamorous girlfriend. Since it was felt that Harman even sounded like Hrithik, the newcomer's dubbing for Love Story 2050 is being done under strict supervision of a female voice expert who sits with Harman. She listens to every word that Harman dubs and if anywhere he sounds like anyone else, she immediately corrects him. For this reason Harman's dubbing in Love Story 2050 has taken a painfully long while. A month away from the film's release and the actor is still...
