Movie Review - Raaz 3

Raaz 3 - Movie review Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Bipasha Basu Directed by Vikram Bhatt Rating: **. The world is made of up of good and evil forces. Aatmas and Parmatmas. Those with chalk-smeared faces and those who merely appear as blinding lights and speak with an echo. But none of them can be immortal enough to live through a show of 'Raaz 3'. The prospect of getting horrified in three-dimension could be promising. But Indian horror films, as pioneered by the Ramsays, have rarely gone beyond junior artists in Halloween costumes grunting like death-metal vocalists. Here you have just that, and perhaps a few mouth-to-mouth adventures and some Kentucky fried frights. Yes, it is no raaz that you're up for some good ol' Bhatt kicking. Shanaya Shekhar (Bipasha Basu) whacks her five-inch lashes uncomfortably as she has just lost the best actress award to budding newcomer Sanjana Krishnan (Esha Gupta). Her obvious assumption: There is no God or he has better ...

Kahaani - Movie Review

In Aami Shotti Bolchi, Vishal-Shekhar conjure the sights, smells and a feeling of Kolkata within their sounds, driven by Vishal's spunky writing. Light jazz helps reduce into swing music having a simplistic five-note lick playing through Usha Uthup's racy lines for example: Dil ka bazaar hai, thoda bizzare hai...Kolkata khwaaishon, armaano ka aachaar hai. While Usha uses her inimitable zest to create every line her very own, Bollywood's first encounter with new-age metal finally comes through - although inside a special appearance - as Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy, our prime-spirited singer from the indie hardcore metal band Scribe, menacingly growls the chorus amongst a rain storm of altered guitars and thumping drums. For Piya Tu Kaahe Rootha Re, Javed Bashir, ace singer of Pakistan's Mekaal Hasan Band, throws expansive aalaaps against a synth-bass intro which will help remind you from the lead-directly into Bon Jovi's Living On The Prayer. Below is really a recip...

London Paris NewYork - Movie Review

A Mumbai-born boy of the film producer travels to London to become listed on film school. He bumps into Lalitha Krishnan, lady on the pursuit to alter the world, in the airport terminal. Their love story starts and propagates across through the years from London to Paris and New You are able to. Anu Menon’s first film travels across continents to exhibit love within our occasions. Apparently love evolves and takes the smoothness from the city it's performed in. Ali Zafar as "Nikhil Chopra" and Aditi Rao Hydari as "Lalitha Krishnan" connect instantly working in london, despite their different skills. They spend a wonderful day within the city, wrap it up nicely having a hug and promise to satisfy one another again in six several weeks in New You are able to. The meeting in New You are able to needs to wait because there is a stopover in Paris, though not in six several weeks. Lalitha is possibly Lolita in Paris, losing her no no no gaucheness is exactly what I...

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya - Movie Review

Movie begin with the accidental encounter of the spirited girl along with a reticent guy, who subsequently trigger with an unpredicted journey. Same may be the situation here though their first encounter results in an impromptu abduction! Also most love tales finish using the bride running away on her behalf big day to her real Prince charming. Right here the bride to be remains in position though they choose a husband interchange within the marriage mandap. The modifications may be minor but, undulating, it will help this regular rom-com gain a name of their own. The very best alternative the film selects, however, is getting Genelia D'Souza take part in the free-spirited girl within the over-used Kareenas and Katrinas the genre has frequently seen. Genelia not just brings quality towards the genre but her camaraderie with Riteish Deshmukh reaches full throttle as in comparison to any or all their earlier excursions. To flee an unwanted wedlock, Small (Genelia D'Souza) will...

Players: Movie Review

Movie Director-duo Abbas Mustan have proved their recycling capabilities credibly enough to win the opportunity of directing an 'official' remake of a Hollywood movie. They have stars, budget, virgin locations and also a ready made film (rather two of them) for reference. But that know-all impudence of the directors to made it Indian, The Italian Job is like having a pizza with Punjabi tadka topping. The supposedly sophisticated heist film starts with a corny jewelry store robbery that acts as an early eye-opener on what to expect thereon. The big plan here is to loot a locomotive laden with gold bars en route from Russia to Romania. The players comprise of the usual suspects - an illusionist (Bobby Deol), a hacker (Neil Mukesh), an explosive expert (Sikander Kher), a prosthetic expert (Omi Vaidya) and a locomotive expert ( Bipasha Basu) who is obviously expected to double up as the seductress. And then there is Charlie (Abhishek Bachchan) who has no expertise and perhaps t...

Ladies vs Ricky Bahl - Movie Review

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl Review Ratings:2.5/5 Reviewer:Rajeev Masand Site:CNN IBN The film’s first half hour or so plays out breezily, where everything from Habib Faisal’s delightful dialogues to Ranveer Singh’s performance as an earnest, middle-class Dilliwala hits the right note. Ladies vs Ricky Bahl nosedives further post-intermission because of script holes the size of craters. The trio of women tracks down our hero way too conveniently, and you can’t help but question how a seasoned conman could so easily be charmed into parting with his cash. Doesn’t help either that the narrative is interrupted far too often with unnecessary songs.I’m going with two-and-a-half out of five for director Maneesh Sharma’s Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. It’s an easily watchable film with much to smile about. Pity…it could’ve been so much more fun. Ratings:3/5 Reviewer:Taran Adarsh Site:BollywoodHungama LADIES VS RICKY BAHL is a film of today and the women here are not abla naaris who will sit back...

Delhi City Bodyguard Opening: Review not Required

Do you think any one can beat this record on Earth? Bodyguard was an opening of an earthquake in the city of Delhi, like the rest of the country. Multiplexes and single screens was 100% in the capital. Delite, Liberty, Sheila, Regal, Samrat, Vishal, etc. were all 100% for the first show. Below is how the opening show went to the rooms in the city and PVR is like a day full house on the PVR screens in the city of more than 100 shows, which would be a first.

Pyaar Impossible - Movie Review

SHREK [and its instalments] has been one of the most loved movies of our times. An ogre falls in love with a princess and after overcoming their share of obstacles, the couple live happily ever after. Most Hindi movies take a similar route, don't they? We love happy endings. We want the underdog to accomplish his dreams. We feel euphoric if he walks into the sunset, holding the hand of his beloved. A love story works if you fall in love with the on-screen characters and also if it knocks on the doors of your heart. PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE does that. PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE may not be the ultimate romantic film, but you can't deny the fact that there's something about this film that stays with you, that you carry home... sorry, carry in your heart. PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE also works because its protagonists, Uday and Priyanka, deliver sparkling performances. No wonder, you get drawn in their world in a jiffy. Final word? Watch PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE if you are or even if you're not a romantic. It ...

Dulha Mil Gaya - Movie Review

The recipe is simple and uncomplicated... Take MY FAIR LADY. Add DULHAN WAHI JO PIYA MAN BHAAYE. Spray NASEEB APNA APNA. Sprinkle DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE and RAB NE BANA DI JODI. Hey presto, DULHA MIL GAYA is ready to serve. In fact, MY FAIR LADY has been a hot favourite of Bollywood. Recall MAN PASAND [Dev Anand, Tina Munim] or HUM TERE AASHIQ HAIN [Jeetendra, Hema Malini]. Similarly, a number of storytellers have rehashed Rajshri's all-time hit DULHAN WAHI JO PIYA MAN BHAAYE [Prem Krishen, Rameshwari] in various avtaars, over the years. DULHA MIL GAYA is a mix of the above-named films. Like they say in filmi lingo, it's old wine in new bottle. So what? How different can a love story be, since this genre has been done to death in Bollywood? Point noted, but the narrative ought to be engaging if it has to strike a chord and that's where DULHA MIL GAYA falters. Merely assembling A-listers and filming the movie at panoramic locations isn't enough. The film ought to ha...

Drona - Movie Review

The Movie Drona directed by Goldie Behl is a fantasy superhero film with a prolific cast - Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra , Kay Kay Menon and Jaya Bachchan . Goldie and Abhishek promise that the movie is one of its kinds and has the potential to appeal to audience across all ages. Featuring hundreds of top notch special effects and various Indian martial art forms, will Drona find a place for itself in the history of superheros? Can Drona become a sensation like Krrish did with kids? All of us are here for a special reason and so is Adithya ( Abhishek Bachchan ). Drona is Adithya's story . It's about the journey that he embarks on to understand the true destiny of his life. Sonia ( Priyanka Chopra ) is his body guard and his companion in this adventurous journey. Riz Raizada, a magician is the evil who wants to conquer the world by defeating Drona and breaking his task. Kudos to Goldie for having ventured into a genre less chosen by Bollywood directors, but makin...

Tashan: Movie Review

The most awaited movie of 2008 is here: Tashan . The movie has an impressive starcast: Akshay Kumar , Kareena Kapoor , Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor . It promised oodles of ishtyle and substance. But the story stops there. The storyline, or the lack of it makes it another Yashraj film on the Box Office . Though the second half is slightly better, it is by no means a reprise from the torture.  Some of the dialogues are just average, some are not even there. Anil Kapoor’s urge to speak Hinglish is gripping initially, but then it becomes irritating. Akshay Kumar is good as Bachchan Pandey, just that his stunts could have been better filmed.  The script has abrupt stops for songs and it just breaks the rhythm, if at all any. Dil Haara and Chaliya are excusable, rest could have been avoided.     The director has not done justice to the piece of reels used. The placements of the scene is not very logical and the locations change absurdly. The fight sequenc...

No Smoking - Movie Review

Movie Cast: John Abraham, Ayesha Takia, Paresh Rawal, Ranvir Shorey Movie Director: Anurag Kashyap Movie Producer: Kumar Mangat and Vishal Bhardwaj Music: Vishal Bhardwaj Lyrics: Gulzar No Smoking - Movie Review Before No Smoking came, it was Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag , which was being termed as the worst movie of 2007. And then came No Smoking , and the focus shifted on Anurag Kashyap for this John Abraham starrer which hardly a soul understood. The film would have probably worn the crown for being the most severely criticized movie of the year but then Saawariya came a few weeks down the line followed by Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and No Smoking had a much larger competition to fight for the place up there! No Smoking is bizarre, no doubt about that, but unlike other films in the 'Hall of fame (shame?)' as mentioned above, this one actually deserves a second dekko. Reason? While Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag to Saawariya to Laaga Chunari Mein Daag bored, this made one l...
