Akshay Kumar, the ‘Thunder’ man for four years in a row!

Mumbai, Nov 24: As the country fights the clutches of the growing recession griping the world’s markets at large, B-town big wigs are struggling to survive the cutthroat competition in order to justify their sky soaring endorsement prices. But there are certain actors whose bank accounts are getting heftier than ever as their brands continue to stick by them. Akshay Kumar is one such Khiladi  who is singing his way to the bank.  The actor, who has delivered a maximum number of hits this year, is a favourite with brands and has not only bagged a number of fresh endorsements deals but is also going strong with the old ones. And going by his current fan following it only made sense when we heard that soft drinks brand Thums Up has renewed it’s contract with Akki.  Known for doing his own stunts and macho  avatar , Akshay is touted to fit the brands image perfectly. Speaking to a news daily a source said, "Action has always been Akki's forte and the Thums Up commercials use that p

Hrithik Roshan to play lord Ram?

If things go as planned, we might see Hrithik Roshan playing Lord Ram in a movie to be made by his father-in-law Sanjay Khan . That Hrithik exudes a royal charisma is a fact. Ashutosh Gowarikar tapped on that very charisma to extract a superb performance from Hrithik in Jodhaa Akbar . Now, Hrithik’s father-in-law, Sanjay Khan, wants him to play Lord Ram in a movie called ‘The Legend of Rama’. Khan, who last directed Taj Mahal , has reportedly been working on this project for the last three years. Also in collaboration is the UK-based writer Farrukh Dhondy. The script is being written jointly by Khan and Dhondy. Khan will produce the film. While Hrithik has been finalized to play the part of lord Ram, Sanjay has chosen his own son Zayed Khan to play Laxman, Ram’s younger brother. According to Dhondy, both Hrithik and Zayed are perfect for the said parts. Amitabh Bachchan has been finalized to play the king Dashrath. However, it is not clear whether the superstar has given his conse

What Katrina Kaif desires the most

She has been on a roll of late, but an exhausted Katrina Kaif tells Shubha Shetty Saha that she still hasn’t found time for rest Good films, great money have been driving stars from one set to another — often in different countries. But the flip side of success is overwork. Some time ago Kareena Kapoor had confessed to After Hrs that she has been left with absolutely no time for her personal life. Now it is Katrina Kaif’s turn to signal timeout. “I have been working really hard," said Katrina. "You know how it is, when your film is just about to release ( Yuvvraj ). Apart from shooting you get busy with the publicity bit.” In the process, says the actress, eight hours of sleep have become an elusive luxury. “I really need a good night’s rest,” sighed Katrina to After Hrs late at night. “But no regrets, really. Right now, work is fabulous. I think as a young girl it is all right to work as hard as possible. What time I get for myself is more than enough. This kind of work co

Muscle-packed Sanjay Dutt returns with 35-inch waist in ‘Lamhaa’

Spicezee Bureau Mumbai, Nov 11: Sanjay Dutt refuses to let age take over his muscular body. The muscle-packed actor is sporting a fabulous new look for his forthcoming film, ‘Lamhaa’, in which he is playing the role of a military officer. With salt-and-pepper beard, dyed hair and military bearing, the veteran actor is sure to make the young actors go green with envy. The first thing Sanjay was required to do was grow a thick beard. "Sanju has also coloured his hair. Sanjay has never done this before," says friend and producer Bunty Walia. "He has never cultivated any kind of special look for a role. When he had played a police officer in Mission Kashmir, he had used a moustache for the first time." Shabina Khan, the famous designer for men, has been roped in to give Sanjay the hot look. "He's come back from his holiday looking so slim and what a stride! Of course his waistline isn't like Sylvester Stallone's. At 6

Bipasha Basu’s no-show in Kashmir upsets Sanjay Dutt

He is feeling pulled apart emotionally and physically. Dharam Oberoi, CEO of Sanjay Dutt Productions said, “The past few weeks were bad for Mr Dutt, both psychologically and physically. But his body and mind is used to taking such batterings.” Throwing more light on the happenings in Dutt’s life, a source close to Dutt said, “First, it was Bipasha’s noshow at Kashmir for ‘Lamhaa’. To top it, she didn’t even bother to inform Sanjay that she was leaving Kashmir. Sanju reached Srinagar at the same time when she left. After the shooting got cancelled in Srinagar, even the shooting at Manali was not smooth sailing. First, Sanju aggravated his shoulder injury while practicing hand-to-hand combat for the action sequences. Then the shooting got disrupted because of the weather conditions in Manali and a landslide. Hardly had he gotten over the shooting fiasco that he heard about the termination of his contract with Ekta Kapoor. This was no way to announce such a huge business reversal.” Source

Miami Beach Hopes To Lure Gay-Curious Indian Tourists

We've learned so much more since we posted the trailer for Dostana , the first Bollywood feature to be shot entirely in Miami: It's faux-homosexual content makes it something of a revolution for Indian culture (it is their Brokeback Mountain , kinda), it's on track to being a blockbuster, and apparently the Greater Miami tourism bureau is pleased as pancakes with the idea that it might double as an effective commercial for tourism. Oh, and also there actually are singin' and dancin' number, whoops (seriously though, how could a culture that has dance numbers in just about every movie not have had one gay story line on screen before?) Anyway, prepare for the incoming avalanche of gay Indian tourism! --Kyle Munzenrieder
