The Hindustan Times featured the story on the front of its website, with the headline: "Who dares loses. Starlet Tania romped with troops in war zone." Three (more) ain’t a crowd in Bollywood!

Mukesh Tiwari. Producer Kumar Mangat was a proud man Saturday night as he spoke of how happy he was to see his daughter Amita step into the world of Bollywood. Mangat, in his movie which is a love story with some scintillating music, has not only introduced Amita to the big screen but also two dashing young men — Adhyayan Suman and Nakuul Mehta. So of course, Adhyayan’s parents — Shekhar and Alka Suman — wore proud, happy smiles on their faces through the evening too. The venue — J W Mariott — was buzzing with lots of people from the industry who had come to wish the three budding stars. Directors Raj Kumar Santoshi and Vishal Bharadwaj, music composer Anand Raj Anand, singer Raghav Sachar, actors Vatsal Sheth and Mukesh Tiwari and NCP leader Asif Bhamla were among those present. The night was a hit, no doubt, but only time will tell how successful the three newcomers will be. However, Priyadarshan had the last word on this matter: “I want these youngster

Bollywood living in 3-day weekend era

It is official now. Bollywood now lives in the era of three-day weekends. Only a few films collect anything to talk about beyond the initial three-day period. The million rupee question is, “Picture ki opening kitni lagi?” And when Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) Tashan failed even to garner a decent opening both on domestic as well as foreign shores, people inside and outside YRF were a worried lot. Budgeted at Rs 40 crore, the movie opened with an initial of 52% in the first week, with collections dropping to 35% in the second week. The failure to reach an agreement with the multiplexes only added to the woes. It is a failure, even Director and CEO, Yash Raj Films, Sanjeev Kohli accepts. “Tashan has been a disappointment commercially, as much was expected from it. But we believe, the audience is the best judge and we accept their verdict,” he said.

Salman wants more than Akshay!

Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar haven't really let the ice thaw since the cold vibes they shared in Jaan-e-Mann. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. The stakes have risen since Akshay got paid a whopper for the desi Fear Factor and Salman wants to get even, or more than Akki, if he can. A source says, "Recently, when Studio 18 approached Salman for a film he wanted to know how much Akshay was getting. When he heard Akshay was getting 40 crore, Salman hiked his price to 50 crore. When Sony"s 10 Ka Dum was launched Salman was getting paid 90 crore for 100 episodes. Then he read in a few tabloids that Akshay Kumar was anchoring a reality show - the desi version of Fear Factor on Viacom 18's Colors - sand was getting paid a whopping Rs 1.5 crore per episode for 16 episodes." Mujhe zyaada chahiye The source reveals that Salman was very upset on hearing this. "He was to start shooting for the show but refused to come on the sets. Salman threw a tantrum saying h

Shah Rukh Khan smiles at Aamir's jibe

Aamir Khan has shocked many movie buffs by making a tasteless jibe at Shah Rukh Khan in his latest blog. Everyone knows by know that Aamir has written on his latest blog that he has a dog named Shahrukh who licks his feet. The jibe, though tongue-in-cheek, is written in such a covert tone that it not just makes a mockery of SRK , but also insults the superstar. The blog has left fans of SRK angry. It has also disappointed many Aamir Khan fans, who think their idol has belittled himself by such distasteful remarks on an industry colleague. But one man who is taking the potshot in his own stride is Shah Rukh Khan. Senior scribe Subhash K Jha quotes SRK as responding to Aamir’s blog: “Earlier, people named their children after famous people. Somebody naming a dog after a known person is a new beginning in that direction. I don’t have a copyright over my name if used non-commercially.” Well, not for nothing is SRK called the King Khan . The verbal volleys between the two stars have
