What's Kabir Khan up to these days? Post ' Kabul Express ', one kept hearing that Kabir's working on his next film. Well, the cat is out of the bag. The director has had successful meetings with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh for his new venture. “I keep talking to John regularly. Even when I wasn't working on the new film, I'd still talk to him about various things. Our conversations aren't work-specific. As for Neil , he's part of the Yash Raj family , so I keep bumping into him all the while. But, let me clarify, I haven't discussed work with either John or Neil,” Kabir informs me. Bollywood movies are very popular in Pakistan despite the ban Pakistani cinema goers may soon get to watch their favourite Bollywood films if the government clears a proposal by its MPs to remove a ban on them. Officially Indian films are banned in Pakistan, a prohibition dating back to the 1965 war between the two countries. Authorities have made exceptions - three films were allowed in 2006. Cinema owners in Pakistan are keen to screen Bollywood films, but local filmmakers fear an influx would harm the Pakistani film industry. Now a parliamentary committee on culture has recommended to the government that the ban on Indian films should be removed. "We have devised a mechanism for allowing the import of Indian films for a period of one year, after which the arrangements can be reviewed," senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, who headed the committee told the Press Trust of India news agency. Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan have been told by India's health minister to stop setting a bad example by smoking in public. "Again I would like to make an appeal, not only to Mr Shah Rukh Khan, but also to Amitabh Bachchan and to all the other personalities. Children are being affected," Anbumani Ramadoss told the CNN-IBN television news channel. Ramadoss, who has been campaigning for a ban on smoking on screen, said Sunday he was "very concerned about (the) alarming rise of incidences of young people getting addicted to tobacco." The minister said his plea was for an end to smoking "in public but also in the movies." "There shouldn't be any smoking scenes in movies because we have statistics showing that 52 percent of children have their first puff of cigarette due to movie celebrities," the minister said.
