Asin Tho doesn’t mind being overshadowed by Aamir Khan

Asin is all set to make a big mark in Bollywood by starring opposite Aamir Khan in the most awaited movie of the year Ghajini. However Asin thottumkal knows her place and is aware that Aamir Khan is going to hog all the attention, she says, “I obviously know that Aamir will outshine me. The film is about Sanjay Singhania; Aamir is the central part… I am just glad that I have a small role in this big project.” When quizzed about playing a small role, she says, “How can that even be an issue? Aamir Khan is such a fabulous actor, that anyone would give an arm and a leg to share the frame with him. I shouldn’t and don’t have ego hassles, and instead am thanking my stars that I got to be part of such a project.” Well it’s good that she is well aware of Aamir Khan’s charm at the box-office before the release of the flick

Aamir Khan is so hot: Asin

17 films old already down South, this Southern siren is now ready to hit it big in Bollywood, come December 25, with her first Hindi film ‘Ghajini’ opposite Aamir Khan. Asin must now be added to the growing list of South Indian actresses who've risen to Bollywood prominence. For a long time, though, it really looked like she wouldn't make it. But is there more to Asin than the all-south Indian image she has created on-screen? Until recently, the actress was virtually unknown in the all-important Indian movie industry. Now she's one of its biggest stars or is she? It's hoped the movie will do for Asin what ‘Namastey London’ did for Katrina Kaif. But like Kats, Asin is remaining resolutely down to earth about becoming Bollywood's latest leading lady. In this exclusive the beauty gets ready to talk to our London correspondent and Harrow Observer columnist Devansh Patel about why being a part of ‘Ghajini’ was a piece of cake, why she would love to treat Aamir with some

Asin Thottumkal Strong In Bollywood

South Indian actress Asin is going really strong even before her debut Hindi film Ghajini has hit the theatres. The 23 yr old has impressed everyone from Aamir to Salman and even Vipul Shah. She has a meaty Tanishq endorsement and a Fanta advertisement in her kitty that has got her noticed. Now she has also bagged Tata Sky’s telly ad replacing former Miss India Gul Panag as Aamir’s better half. Asin confirms, “Yes, you’re right. I have signed a deal with Tata Sky for their next television commercial opposite Aamir Khan which goes on air on the 25th December. I haven’t shot for the advert. It should be anytime soon.” It is said to be a promotional sort for Ghajini after its release. Wonder what Gul Panag has to say as Asin steals her screen hubby. Asin’s next Bollywood film is Vipul Shah’s London Dreams opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. This girl is surely going hot.

Asin and her khan-filled career

Ever since Asin signed for the Aamir Khan starrer 'Ghajini' the young actress has been in the news rather consistently. With 'Ghajini' slated for worldwide release on Christmas day, the actress has spoken to the press about her Bollywood experience. Asin who starred alongside Suriya in the Tamil version has essayed the same role in the Aamir Khan starrer as well. Reacting to loads of news that emanated recently about Aamir giving her Hindi tuitions and the way her character has been designed in the Hindi version Asin said that her character is pretty much the same as it is in Tamil. As for Aamir giving her Hindi tuitions, the actress said she needed absolutely no tuition as her Hindi is quite fluent. 'I studied in Naval Public School and my Hindi is quite good' she declared. On how she was selected for 'Ghajini' (Hindi version), the actress said that Aamir was impressed by her performance when a special screening of the film was arranged by direct

Shah Rukh Khan eyes on 'Ghajini' Director

It all started as he picked out Christopher Nolan's 'Mementoes' from stores and it just took 120mins transcending his life in tinsel town. Yeah! Murugadoss' tongue wouldn't stop singing appraisals for Hollywood's versatile filmmaker Christopher Nolan as it has inspired him vividly. Couple of years back, Murugadoss adapted the unique and never-seen-before theme of 'Short Term Memory Loss' with 'Ghajini' that shot him to fame across far-flung corners of globe. Well, it was then we had our Mr. Perfectionist inviting him to remake it in Hindi with the same title 'Ghajini'. With the film hitting screens universally on December 25, Shah Rukh Khan has already zeroed down on this filmmaker. Some of the officials from King Khan's Red Chillies met him recently to discuss the scripts. However, things would be finalized by first week of January (once box office results of Ghajini are out). Aamir khan upsets Asin

Aamir Khan's new lead actress Asin seems to be unhappy with the Ghajini hero's strict rules. A source close to Aamir said: "She had an argument with Aamir recently." It was after Aamir stopped her from interacting with the media, making public appearances or attending any events. According to reports Asin wants to concentrate on her Bollywood career and she has been getting a lot of offers but is unable to interact with media, which is frustrating her. Asin has signed Salman Khan , Ajay Devgan starrer London Dreams and quite a few other big banners now, but very little is known about her. Sources say that the Ghajini team has stopped Asin from giving her portfolio pictures to anyone. The southern siren who was also a part of the Telugu version of Ghajini has been under the contract for almost two years. Asin recently told reports: "I cannot speak about this as we have been told not to speak to the press." Asin, who is a big star down south, is making h

I hope I live up to my name in Bollywood: Asin

Having stormed Telugu and Tamil cinema Asin has now moved to Mumbai conquer the Hindi belt. And if the growing buzz is to be believed, after Hema Malini , Rekha and Sridevi , Asin Thottumkal is poised to be the next Bollywood diva from the South. Tell her this, and Asin laughs in delight and embarrassment. "I admire the names you've mentioned. I'm a long way from getting anywhere near them. I thought I was fairly unknown in Mumbai. I guess I'm lucky. But yes I feel hugely welcome in Mumbai. I don't know why filmmakers are showing so much interest in me. I guess they must've seen my work in Tamil and Telugu. Spirited spunky and beautiful Asin (pronounced Ah-sin) has a better sense of humour than most of the screen divas in Bollywood. "Thanks for pronouncing my name correctly. Most people tend to give it an Islamic spin. 'Asin' is coined from Sanskrit and English. It means 'sinless' like 'Amala'….without blemish. I hope I live up
