Ekta Chowdary Crowned Miss India World 2009

And finally the results of Pantaloons Miss India 2009 held at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai are unveiled! Miss India Universe -Ekta Chowdary, Miss India World - Pooja Chopra and Miss India Earth - Shriya Kishore. These beautiful starlets will represent India in Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Earth.

Sporting the costumes designed by Rajesh and Anirban of Pantaloons, Prasad Bidappa and Varadha Rajan of Arabella, and Ritu Kumar, all 20 finalists rocked to the track Fame and took ramp to the popular song, “Jai Ho”.

To a common question posed by the jury to the finalists – “What was the one thing you would ask God if you met him, and why?” all the three finalists responded in a one-of-a-kind way. Delhi-based Miss India Universe Ekta Chowdary, 22, replied, she would ask God why do people fight in his name when all are created equal.

Miss India World- Pooja Chopra, 23, (Pune) said, she would ask God that why certain children are deprived of mother’s love. She further added, “ since God could not be everywhere, he created mothers. “ Miss India Earth - Shriya Kishore, 22, from Mumbai, opined she would ask God about morality and immorality.
