Lok Sabha elections are coming soon and Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan is hoping that Indian political parties bring a positive change to the India by fielding some dynamic, intelligent yet honest politicians for the elections.

“I think public sentiment is that we are looking for leaders to be positive and progressive and take us forward and we would like to believe that you would do that and you can do that,” Aamir Khan said at the NDTV Indian of the Year 2008 award ceremony here Wednesday.

“The reason I am saying this is because the general elections are round the corner and I, as a common citizen of the country, expect and hope that the major political parties field the candidates who are clean, intelligent and really deserving of our votes. I am really looking forward to that in all humility,” he added.

Accepting the award, Aamir Khan said: “I am really grateful for the faith everyone has shown in my films. It has been really encouraging. I have to say that whatever I have achieved today is the result of the kind of support and collective input of my entire team of every film that I have been a part of.”
