'See, I'm better than Shahrukh Khan': Vinay Pathak

It goes to say without a doubt that Vinay Pathak is one of the finest and the most talented actors we have in our film industry today. After having fried our bheja's with Bheja Fry, the mad man is back styling people's hair in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The comic genius plays the role of Bobby, a hair salon owner and a dear friend of Shahrukh Khan in the film who helps Shahrukh Khan dress up in hip and happening colourful t-shirts, boots and a gelled look to impress his love interest played by debutant Anushka Sharma rather than cut people's hair.

Now as soon as the film got over in a special screening at the YRF Studios last Friday, the first person we called up to inform the best jodi of the film was apna Vinay babu. The extraordinary jodiof Vinay and SRK rocks in the film. Yes, it does remind you of yesteryear actor Deven Varma helping out Amol Palekar in Golmaal but this one's way too funny and yet high on emotions. Vinay is seen in a completely unbelievable get up this time. He has coloured his hair blonde, spiked it with a Mohican look and to make matters worse, even wears colourful printed tight fitted shirts and looks like a pukka cool dude.

Over the phone from some birthday party he was attending, we congratulated him on his superb performance to which he answered, "Thank you so much. But thanks, also goes to Aditya Chopra who is sure, talented and has a vision to bring out the best from his actors. I told him to see Bheja Fry once and he went to the theatres to see it. Can you believe it? Moving on to Rab Ne..., he immediately called me up while he was writing for the supporting actors role and informed me that I was the only actor he thought of for this role".

Pathak saab's been getting a lot of phone calls after the first day first show of Rab Ne... from all across the globe as he tells us, "I've got a call from Germany and many parts of India about my stand out performance". In his funny humorous style he adds, "See, I'm better than SRK", and laughs. Talking about his unusual dress code in the film, he replies, "A lot of hard work was put in by Aki Narula who is the costume designer of Rab Ne... and Adi Chopra gave in his creative ideas to enhance it further. I loved my look in the film because it's not often you get to play roles like these in a Yash Raj Film".

Bobby barber best describes the film as a very well crafted, planned, debated and a discussed film with fun and emotions weaved in such a way that you'll love to watch it again and again. So what did the star say on his first ever experience of working with the King Khan? "Shahrukh Khan has got so much of style. He is hard working and very conducive to work with which helps actors like us to learn a great deal from an actor with so much experience", Vinay answered. With a strong supporting role like this one, Vinay Pathak continues to make people smile, laugh and for a change, sob a bit in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Rani Mukherjee's sexy in her bikini

Bollywood Actress Rani Mukherjee's sexy in her bikini In Dil Bole Hadippa Believe it or not, but the whole ‘bikini top ‘n’ skimpy shorts’ avatar in short — flaunting Rani Mukerji’s hot new bod wasn’t her idea. Not even the producer or director had anything to do with it. After she realised how much she had toned up (to play a male cricketer in Dil Bole Hadippa!), Rani just happened to discuss this idea with her designer friend Manish Malhotra. And from there on it was Manish’s game plan, after all, he’s transformed many a Bollywood girl in to glam queens. He suggested that it would be a pity to waste such a well-toned body by not showing it off. That’s how the idea of a special song was born. And is she looking hot? Talk about her ‘shapely’ success, and Rani says, “Believe me, I didn’t starve at all. I love my food, especially rice and sweets. There was no way I was giving up all that. So, I just worked out harder and was occasionally allowed my ‘cheat’ meals of rice, sweets, etc.

Bollywood: John Abraham’s Slum Connection

Bollywood New Movie Slumdog Millionaire has definitely made the slums of Mumbai a little popular. Perhaps this is why they are so welcoming to every director who wants to make a film on their lifestyle. John Abraham’s fortcoming film Hook Ya Crook is also one of those films shot in the Chikalwadi Chawl of Mumbai. This film is directed by David Dhawan and John Abraham playes a cricketer who resides in the chawl. In a song John and Genelia D’Souza dance to a tapori-ish number with the typical tapori dance steps. The residents of the slum were delighted to see the stars around and cheered for the unit as they worked. John Abraham added to their delight by giving them autographs and taking pictures with them.
