'Dhoom 2' being remade in Kannada

Bollywood action thriller Dhoom 2 is reportedly being remade downsouth under the name ‘Dubai Babu’.

 The movie in Kannada has the south superstar Upendra playing a cop on the trail of a clever and elusive thief, played by Aryan Vaid .

In a recent media report, Aryan confirmed that his character is styled on the lines of Hrithik Roshan in ‘D2’.
“My character is as flamboyant as Hrithik’s, but much meaner and far more cold-blooded. Even my get-ups in the film are almost like Hrithik’s,” Aryan is quoted as saying.

The actor said he was chosen for the part after the makers of the Kannada film saw him in the controversial movie ‘Deshdrohi’.

The Kannada movie has Nikita playing Aishwarya Rai ’s character while Kumar Govind enacts Uday Chopra ’s role.

Naganna is the director.

It is still unclear if the producers have taken permission to remake the film from Yashraj Films , the makers of ‘Dhoom 2’.

'I have no heartfelt desire to work with SRK’: Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor maintains he never said he was desperate to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, but admitted he would love to work with the superstar if a good project came his way. “I had no such dil ki tamanna (heartfelt desire) to work with Shah Rukh sir. But I respect him a lot. I am a big fan of him,” Ranbir told reporters on the margins of the HT Leadership Summit here Friday. The 28-year-old, who was here with his father, evergreen star Rishi Kapoor, says a superstar’s presence in a project isn’t reason enough for him to accept it. “It’s not that if a superstar will be there in a film, I’ll agree to do it. But if I like a film, I like its script, I would be more than glad to do it,” he added. Nevertheless, Ranbir enjoys the attention he gets from the youth.
