The much-talked-about film Kites has hit the headlines again. Earlier it was hurricane Ike that stalled its shoot, now it’s a tiff.
The tiff reportedly happened between the film’s producer Rakesh Roshan and its cinematographer Bobby Singh. During a shoot, Roshan had a row with Bobby Singh regarding a particular shot. Roshan was adamant to shoot that scene from a particular angle, to which Bobby was not agreeing. This made Rakesh furious and he reportedly yelled at Bobby in front of crew members. As a result, the cinematographer walked off the sets and out of the movie.
Anurag Basu , the director of ‘Kites’, was roped in by Roshan senior after he liked his work in films like Gangster and Metro . Anurag had agreed to direct ‘Kites’ on his own terms and conditions. And he wanted to work with his own team, which includes Bobby Singh.
Reports have it that right from the beginning Rakesh was interfering in Bobby’s work. Being a producer he doesn’t have much right, but he continued to interfere and finally situation got so worse that the cinematographer chose his way.
It’s reported that Bobby Singh is in Mumbai now. So, Anurag Basu has to go for some other cinematographer to finish the film, which, in a way, can make a creative dent in his work.
‘Kites’ stars Hrithik Roshan opposite Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut .
