The evening started with none other than Shah Rukh Khan telling the auditorium full of guests that dreams do come true... but first, you must dare to dream.
Alright, King Khan wasn’t there in person, but he was there nonetheless, larger than life on the big screen. And closely following his words were the producers of the mega-musical City of Dreams — the Morani brothers Mohomad and Ali, and Ashvin Gidwani — who dared to dream and on Friday, realised their dream of creating India’s first Bollywood musical.
With Mumbai being the protagonist here, along with Bollywood, it was no surprise to see the Bollywood-crazy Mumbaiites flock to the venue to catch three hours of OTT Bollywood-ishtyle entertainment.
Ishitaa Arun was there much too early, enjoying the pre-production buzz along with the producers. TV actress Narayani Shastri was backstage too, keeping her better half Gaurav Chopraa who stars in the musical, company. Anusha Dandekar made a style statement wearing a trendy hat; she and Rannvijay enjoyed the evening tremendously.
In the interval, one heard Marc Robinson sharing his views on the musical. Babita Malkani, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Asif Bhamla with his wife were among the others present. The starcast, Kashmera Shah, Lucky Morani, Gaurav Chopraa, Shipra Singh, Mandar Chandwadkar and Anand Tiwari sure made it a dream-like evening for all present.
