I am scared, says Mimoh

His debut film (Jimmy) isn't being hyped like other star sons', but Mimoh Chakraborty is relaxed. He is proud not to have the backing of his father Mithun Chakraborty. Ritujaay Ghosh speaks to the newcomer.

Are you nervous?
I am scared. My identity as an actor is on stake with this film and if it doesn't work I will be upset.

And what do your your parents have to say, particularly your father?
He is relaxed. He is rather busy with his own acting commitments and now he has another child to look after… Indian Cricket League (ICL) (laughs). But his attitude has in a way helped me relax to a great extent.

Most fathers would have been tense...
He is unlike others. He has always been a practical man. Had he not been so, he would have launched me under his own banner. But the day I expressed my desire to become an actor, he said, "Fight your own battle just like I did. Don't expect any help."

When did you think of getting into acting?
I was born in a family of actors but I don't remember if I wanted to be an actor as a child. To me acting happened only after watching Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Na Pyar Hai.

"My father is a living legend. We will work together only when we can do justice to the film and our roles"Is that how dance happened too?
Yes, to a great extent. But it was more because of Baba and his films. Dancing was always a cakewalk for me. Hrithik and Govinda are my idols.

And what about your father?
You asked me about my idols and not about my God. He has taught me how to be a good human being.

What about your mother Yogita Bali? She too has been an actor…
For me she is only a mother. She has been supportive. I can't see my mother romancing other men.

Has she watched Jimmy?
No, she hasn't, but she will soon. I hope she likes it.

Jimmy was your father's screen name in Disco Dancer...
That's the only link between my debut film and my father's involvement.

But the promos of Jimmy carry footages of your father in Disco Dancer?
It's like living under the shadows of my father but the idea was to draw a comparison.

Does that mean we get to see both of you in a film soon?
Not in the next 10-15 years. He is a living legend. We will work together only when we can do justice to the film and our roles.

Rani Mukherjee's sexy in her bikini

Bollywood Actress Rani Mukherjee's sexy in her bikini In Dil Bole Hadippa Believe it or not, but the whole ‘bikini top ‘n’ skimpy shorts’ avatar in short — flaunting Rani Mukerji’s hot new bod wasn’t her idea. Not even the producer or director had anything to do with it. After she realised how much she had toned up (to play a male cricketer in Dil Bole Hadippa!), Rani just happened to discuss this idea with her designer friend Manish Malhotra. And from there on it was Manish’s game plan, after all, he’s transformed many a Bollywood girl in to glam queens. He suggested that it would be a pity to waste such a well-toned body by not showing it off. That’s how the idea of a special song was born. And is she looking hot? Talk about her ‘shapely’ success, and Rani says, “Believe me, I didn’t starve at all. I love my food, especially rice and sweets. There was no way I was giving up all that. So, I just worked out harder and was occasionally allowed my ‘cheat’ meals of rice, sweets, etc. ...

But I respect him a lot. I am a big fan of him,” Ranbir told reporters on the margins of the HT Leadership Summit here Friday. The 28-year-old, who was here with his father, evergreen star Rishi Kapoor, says a superstar’s presence in a project isn’t reason enough for him to accept it. “It’s not that if a superstar will be there in a film, I’ll agree to do it. But if I like a film, I like its script, I would be more than glad to do it,” he added. Nevertheless, Ranbir enjoys the attention he gets from the youth.
