Riteish Deshmukh with Amitabh Bachchan

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh, who has done a bouquet of comedy films, will essay a serious role in Ram Gopal Varma's media-based film "Rann". The actor, who will share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in the movie , will be seen in the role of a journalist. "I play the role of a guy named Purab Shastri. He is a beginner and believes in real journalism and that's the reason why he joins a news channel named India 24X7," he said. On being questioned about his decision to take up the role, Riteish quipped: "When I was doing comedy, people used to ask me why I am doing just comedies and now when I have got a chance to do something different, they are again asking me why I am doing a serious role." "The thing is that I got a chance to do such a good role and that's why when Ramu (Ram Gopal Varma) asked me, I readily agreed. However, there are some comedies to come in the future," he added.

Salman Khan’s very supportive: Asin Thottumkal,

The way Asin Thottumkal came to Bollywood and easily conquered the film industry? She’s the flavour of the season, everyone wants to sign her, and co-stars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan apparently cannot stop praising the southern beauty. But, it’s hard to believe, Asin actually had rejected films like Bachchana Ae Hasino, Delhi 6, Karthik Calling Karthik and the very recent De Dana Dan with Akshay Kumar before Ghajini made her! “It’s not as if I’ve come out of oblivion and suddenly made it big here,” said the actress who’s currently busy with London Dreams. Another film she’s thrilled about is the trilingual international project titled 19th Step that’s in English, Japanese and Tamil and in which she co-stars with the popular Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano. Asin plays an Indian princess who falls in love with a Japanese warrior come down to learn the ancient Dravidian martial art Kalaripayattu. The music for this film is scored by A R Rahman. And, Asin has to return to her home state Kera

Ashutosh Gowarikar to direct Buddha

Bollywood Director Ashutosh Gowarikar’s almost but over with canning What’s Your Rashee?, but he has his next project well insight. He is all set to direct an English film based on the life of Lord Buddha, which will be produced by industrialist BK Modi. It is obviously a big budget one, with Rs 200 crore being ear-marked for production. “The film will be titled Buddha,” reveals a source. If you remember, Modi had initially wanted to make the film along with Deepak Chopra and Shekhar Kapur. But because of differences in the trio’s opinions, the movie was shelved. “We are not making that movie anymore, unfortunately,” Shekhar had told us when we had asked him, then. But looks like Modi was not ready to give up on his dream project. And so, called on Gowarikar. Incidentally, it was Gowarikar who portrayed the ancient enlightened saint in Shyam Benegal’s popular TV series, Discovery of India. One more thing: Benegal too wants to make a film on Buddha, but with Hrithik Roshan in the lead.

Ranbir Kapoor : 'Thank you God, thank you Mom'

One look at the comfort level between the mother-son duo of Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor and you don’t feel the age difference. It’s more like the two are friends, buddies who know each other inside out. One Knows what the other is thinking, is going to say, wants to say. For every time we put forth a question to Neetu, R anbir would take the lead and answer, and mother dearest would agree. “When we go out for dinner, I don’t even order for myself. I let Ranbir do the ordering, I know he’ll choose what I like,” Neetu smiles, adding, “My kids know a lot about me.” Such is the camaraderie between the two. Ranbir admits he’s mama’s boy ’coz daddy Rishi Kapoor wasn’t around too much during his growing up years. And Neetu chose to be a full-time mother to daughter Riddhima and son Ranbir. “It’s essential to be connected to your children,” she states. That’s also the reason the two share an “open relationship” and discuss life, movies and almost any topic under the sun. So what’s
