Amitabh Bachchan and Mithun to work together

Director Vivek Sharma has managed to bring together Amitabh Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty, 19 years after they worked together in Agneepath, for his next film, Buddham Sharanam Ghachammi. Mithun, playing the role of a South Indian coconut seller with a propensity to fold up his lungi had created a huge impact in Agneepath. According to industry sources Mithun was said to be the successor to the number one position occupied by Amitabh Bachchan for almost three decades. However, there were reports of friction between both the actors during the making of Prakash Mehra's Jaadugar following which Mithun opted out of the film and was replaced by Aditya Panscholi. Vivek who had convinced Amitabh to do the film was very keen to have Mithun too. Our source said, Many filmmakers in the past have tried to bring the two actors together but were unsuccessful. Vivek met Mithun at his Madh Island residence on Tuesday, and convinced him to do the role. The duo will be seen in lead roles in Buddh...

Hrithik Roshan: New Prince of Bollywood

Hrithik Roshan is the new Shahzada (prince) of Bollywood. A title only Shahjahan will grudge him. Never mind. No wonder, he did ample justice to his role in Jodhaa Akbar (2008). Royalty is in his genes. He is a true blue blood. IT TOOK all of us sometime to familiarise ourselves with the spelling of Hrithik Roshan 's name. I always get confused. We always pronounce as we spell, but here was a hat ke (different) spelling. Earlier, I used to write Ritik, but slowly the name grew on me. It was of course, Hrithik, letter H as in hat ke like himself. Numerology has certainly wrecked havoc with the spellings of film stars’ names. Hrithik Roshan (35) certainly arrived on the Bolly scene in style with the blockbuster Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai (2000). The movie took the entire nation by storm. Not to say his dad’s Rakesh Roshan’s fetish with letter ‘K’, the movie’s success rested totally on Hrithik’s young shoulders. He did justice to the double role. I have seen the movie about five times. I can ...

A dog lover himself, salman khan is reportedly asking his pals to look around as well.

Sujoy Ghosh makes Amitabh Bachchan dance and …’sing’!!

We have heard Amitabh Bachchan and loved his songs from movies like Silsila and Mukaddar Ka Sikandar. Well it’s not for the first time that Amitabh Bachchan will be seen dancing and singing on screen, but yes it will be the first time that Amitabh Bachchan will be lending his voice to an ad commercial. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh who is also directing Amitabh Bachchan in the forthcoming film Aladin, Bachchan will be singing for Himani Navratna Oil commercial for which he is the brand ambassador. The jingle has been composed by the versatile Vishal – Shekhar. And from what we hear, Amitabh too spent long hours in the studio with the musicians and provided his own inputs. Needless to say, the dance is going to be one to watch out for, especially since it’s been choreographed by the popular duo Bosco –Ceaser. But so much is the magnetic pull of the legendary actor that when the team of Aladin learnt that Sujoy Ghosh was directing an ad with Bachchan, everyone from Vishal Shekhar, Sabu Cyril, ...

Amitabh Bachchan, the stylist

Bollywood Super Star Amitabh Bachchan, one of the best dressed Bollywood superstars, has gone a step further by adding a personal touch to his character. The 67-year-old actor was extremely excited about the groovy track that features Riteish Deshmukh (a close friend of his son Abhishek) and himself in a forthcoming film, and asked director Sujoy Ghosh whether he could do his own wardrobe and styling for the song. Bachchan then went on to choose a deep red velvet jacket which added that extra touch of grandeur to his already larger-than-life persona in this film that also has Sanjay Dutt in a stellar role. The photograph you see here is the result. Style maketh the man. But here, the man maketh style!

Is Amitabh Bachchan’s Aladin like Harry Potter?

Is Amitabh Bachchan ’s forthcoming film Aladin like Harry Potter series film? Though we may not be so sure about the claim but film director Sujoy Ghosh is making such claims. Aladin is a fantasy movie starring none other than India’s living legend Amitabh Bachchan . Amitabh Bachchan sometimes ago while writing on his blog had said“…My role is that of the genie and yes I will appear at the rub of the lamp to fulfill the three wishes of the one that carries the object of desire.” Sujoy Ghosh may not be able to replicate Harry Potter series as we simply don’t have similar expertise. Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, his friends from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The central story arc concerns Harry's struggle against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents in his ques...

Indian films bring people closer: Amitabh Bachchan

amitabh bachchan photo at iifa Indian cinema was considered "infradig" several decades ago, but it has become the "best example of national integration" as it brings people of different castes and communities together, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan said at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) press meet on Friday. "Indian cinema, for those perhaps unaware of its existence 70 or 80 years ago, was an entity that was looked somewhat down upon socially. Children of good homes and people from more elite families were kept away for many years because it was looked down upon as something infradig. But over the years, it has grown to an extent that it has almost become a parallel culture," Amitabh said. IIFA aims at taking Indian cinema beyond Indian shores and this year it is celebrating its 10th year in Macau after having travelled to countries like Britain, South Africa, Singapore, Dubai and Thailand in previous years. "I have to say that w...
