Look at what Bollywood is stirring in its melting pot of story Idea
A heady dish on itself, with a masala cast spicing up the ingredients in the form of Hrithik Roshan playing a ‘superstar’, Rishi Kapoor a ‘producer’ and Juhi Chawla his wife, Sanjay Kapoor a ‘director’, Dimple Kapadia a ‘diva’, Isha Sharwani a ‘star kid’, and Farhan Akhtar playing the ‘struggling actor’ and Konkona Sen Sharma the ‘starlet’. Stirring the fires and ladling out this pot-boiler for anticipating audiences is Zoya Akhtar in her debut as director.
The film, Luck By Chance, is being produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani who, you know, got lucky earlier with Rock On. But don’t expect Farhan to be singing. The music is eclectic with a mix of folk, bass and sufi songs, plus — naturally, item numbers in true Bollywood style.
“I’ve worked with Farhan before and we share the same sensibilities. It’s comfortable and fun working with young filmmakers like Ritesh and him,” said Zoya. Farhan added, “The film’s wide gamut covers the entire industry. It’s what Zoya has observed over the years about Bollywood.” And, apparently, what Zoya has quickly learned about the industry is that it’s Rishi who’s most fun to be around. “He can be quite a handful,” said Zoya. “Yes,” agreed Ritesh, “Rishi’s full on fun, he’s a veteran, and I would love to work with him again.”
This is just the trailer to this dhamaal film. As they say in Bollywood, aage pardhe pe dekho.
