Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor sizzle on Ramp

Ace fashion designer Rohit Bal gave a fitting grand finale to the glitzy-starry Wills India Fashion Week that ended on Wednesday. With Bollywood Stars Kapoor and Katrina Kaif walking the ramp for the designer, Bal stole the show both for his larger than life show choreography and exceptional ensembles. And even though it was Bal’s judgment day, Bollywood Star Ranbir Kapoor had sweaty palms. The dishy actor who sashayed the ramp with his co-star Katrina Kaif was a bundle of nerves for the much-anticipated grand finale as he feared walking with the lissome lass. Talking about his ramp experience, Ranbir Kapoor said, “I was pretty nervous to face the stage with a veteran model like Katrina Kaif. The idea of walking the ramp with her made me go blank every time I thought of it. It was she who led me beautifully to the stage making me feel comfortable with her”. Dressed in Bal’s exotic collection, Ranbir wore a cream colour sherwani-style coat with pyjamas and Katrina Kaif had an embellishe

Though Asin and Salman got along pretty well during the shoot of their film LONDON DREAMS, it seems Salman decided to keep a safe distance from Asin after rumours of the two getting close started doing the rounds. Well, whatever be the reason, Salman's open snub has left Asin fuming. Now, what remains to be seen is how the equation between the two stars shapes up in the coming time.

Ranbir Kapoor Benefits From SRK Being Busy

Aditya Chopra is reportedly all set to direct his next film after “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”. It will be a young love story written by him as well. For the first time, close friend Shah Rukh Khan will not be starring in a movie directed by Adi. As SRK is busy with Farah Khan's film “Happy New Year” and Farhan Akhtar’s “Don 2”, Adi had to come up with a script that required another kind of leading man. As the need was for a young hero, Ranbir Kapoor is said to be doing the film now. Is Ranbir on his way to becoming the new Yash Raj Films’ favourite? Looks like he’s at least on his way. Adi’s film will be his third with YRF after “Bachna Ae Haseeno” and the upcoming “Rocket Singh Salesman of the Year”.

Rani Mukherjee sets good example on TV show

Rani Mukerji, who debuts on the small screen as the judge of Sony TV's new reality show "Dance Premier League", impressed the whole unit with her punctuality and professionalism. "She was there dot on time, ready with make-up on before some of the other celebrities had even arrived in the studio. Once on the sets, she proved her total professionalism," said a source from the show. "More than that, she has proved that she is a perfectionist. Even before the director could decide he needed another take, she called for it herself and redid the takes until she was satisfied with the result. It definitely pays to work with Aamir Khan at the beginning of one's career. After all, a leaf from his book will only hold good," added the source.

Salman Khan in 'Satte Pe Satta' Remake

One can’t forget Salman Khan’s double role in laugh riot Judwaa. Now, his brother Sohail Khan wants to make a modern version of the cult comedy Satte Pe Satta and who better to step in Big B’s shoes than Salman Khan himself. In the remake, Salman Khan will play the double role immortalized by the super-funny Amitabh Bachchan in the 1982 original version which was inspired by the Hollywood film ‘Seven Brides For Seven Brothers’. Sohail Khan is keen to produce the remake and is in the process of buying the film’s rights from the Sippys. The buzz says that comedy king David Dhawan could direct the film. As for now, Sohail is unable to hide his excitement and is in a hurry to finalize things. In ‘Satte Pe Satta’ his bhai Salman Khan will play the hero Ravi and the brown-eyed antagonist Babu. Since the movie is a multi-starrer, will Sohail Khan also join the league of seven brothers? Well, no. Sohail says he is happy to produce the film as it’s going to be a huge task to get so many actors

Akshay Kumar v/s Ajay v/s Salman Khan this Diwali

Diwali is a festival of lights, fireworks, sweets and gambling. Often people bond over gambling after the Laxmi Puja on the Diwali night, a custom which has been practiced since the era of rajas and maharajas. Bollywood too has been generously gambling on the eve of Diwali every year. For Bollywood producers, Diwali is always considered to be one of the most lucrative periods for the release of their films. The schools and colleges have vacation. And offices are shut for not less than five days of Diwali. It’s a holiday for all and sundry and watching a movie still remains one of the favourite activities for an average Indian on holidays. So, most producers target Diwali to get maximum audience for their films. Clearly, there is a crowd of movies releasing in the Diwali week every year. And it’s always the biggest who vie for the space. Usually multiple releases on any average Friday is considered suicidal in Bollywood. But history has it that on several instances, more than one film h

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were first choices for ‘London Dreams’

Not many will be aware that filmmaker Raj Kumar Santoshi was about to manage the formidable coup of getting Aamir Khan & Shah Rukh Khan together on the big screen together for the first time in “London Dream”s. At that point, it was to be titled Rashque ('jealousy' in Urdu), which is the film's underlying sentiment. The two stars are said to have even attended joint narrations. Following the story narration, both the actors loved the script and wanted to sleep over it before committing themselves. Santoshi is rumoured to have pursued the two superstars relentlessly and even chased alternatives like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, before giving up when the casting did not fructify. As destiny would have it, Salman Khan took “London Dreams” to filmmaker Vipul A. Shah, who started afresh on the script. The former automatically stepped into Aamir Khan's shoes while Ajay Devgn was roped in by Vipul Shah to step into Shah Rukh Khan's. This also became coup of sorts as

Salman Khan’s expectations from Main Aurr Mrs Khanna

Bollywood Star Salman Khan had four back to back flops before Wanted became a huge success. His career and also that of the producer Boney Kapoor’s was on the line before the release of Prabhu Deva’s big B-town debut and thankfully Wanted went on to become the second biggest grosser in Bollywood this year. However Prem Soni’s Main Aurr Mrs Khanna which is yet again another extra marital love story had been ready for a year now and it’s only because of Wanted being a mega hit is it getting to see the light of day now. A source added, “Financiers had their doubts with Main Aurr Mrs Khanna before Wanted as the film has the same old storyline of that of a extra marital love story and it didn’t have something new to offer. Sohail Khan too hasn’t been able to create a foothold in the Industry making it even more sceptical for them to let the film release this year. However after Wanted the rest was history and they’re all trying to bank on Salman Khan’s newfound mega superstar success.” Pre

Wanna know Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina' Kaifs chemistry

Director Rajkumar Santoshi is quite secretive, rather diplomatic about his actors' real and reel relationship. He lately proved it when asked about the on and off screen chemistry of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in his forthcoming film, the romantic comedy, AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI. Santoshi goes on, ''Well, I can't really go about revealing much about their chemistry, both on and off-screen when they are around. However, if this question is put to me in isolation, I have no qualms to answer the same.'' Well, what are you signing towards Mr. Santoshi? Seems we got to fix a secret appointment with you very soon. Who knows, we might end up cleaning some skeletons out of the closet. Wotsay Mr. Santoshi!

Hrithik Roshan is the new kamina!

News is making the rounds that Hrithik Roshan has finally signed on the dotted line for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next ambitious project. Right after Kaminey, Vishal began work on his next project and zeroed down on Hrithik for the lead. But Hrithik who had signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzarish was too busy preparing himself for the part and had put Vishal’s film on the backburner. Sanjay’s film is said to be based on Hollywood film The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale and Hrithik plays a paraplegic in the film. Hrithik has already begun preparing himself for the role and was literally moving around in a wheelchair for a month to get into character. While Sanjay’s film is based on The Prestige, a source close to Vishal reveals details about his next, “Vishal has been waiting for Hrithik Roshan to give the go ahead for the film for quite a while now. Hrithik Roshan was apprehensive whether he’d be able to work for Vishal and Sanjay’s film at the same time as both the films wo

Katrina Kaif loves Ranbir Kapoor

Katrina Kaif’s New York revived the box office. She will be seen in full-fledged roles in two films this year, Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani and De Dana Dan and a special appearance in Blue. The gorgeous actress tells us about her latest film, director Rajkumar Santoshi and working with Ranbir Kapoor who is the next big thing. “It’s been a great honour to work with Rajji. I have done most of my films with Akshay and Salman. I asked them who is the best director for an actor to work with and both of them answered that it was Rajkumar Santoshi. I had an amazing time working with him. I had a great time shooting the songs in Turkey and am grateful to Ahmed Khan for the fantastic choreography and Pritam for the wonderful music, as always,’ smiled Katrina. Katrina has usually played the glam doll in most of her films except New York and, in APKGK her character seems to be more than just a pretty face. How does she feel about that? ‘I think I am very privileged that I keep getting fresh new cha

Kareena Kapoor has a problem with Kajol Devgan

It’s not the first time they are working together, but it’s always been like this. Ever since Kareena Kapoor worked with her favourite co-star Kajol in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, she has always held her acting ability a notch less to the seasoned senior. For her next project with Kajol, Stepmom, Kareena Kapoor has been taking acting classes with the help of film director Siddharth Malhotra to brush up on her skills before she faces her idol. ’Vishal Bharadwaj's Omkara is the only other time I have rehearsed my scenes. It was an unconventional film and my role where I had to get into a certain milieu and simple character I knew nothing about needed that sort of rehearsing. In Stepmom, which is urban and very contemporary, I play a very normal metro-centric working girl,’ said Kareena at a press conference recently. It is a well known fact that Malhotra's film is inspired by the 1998 hit drama Stepmom, in which Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts share the same man- in an unusual love

Amrita Rao covers Maxim Oct. issues

Amrita Rao covers Maxim this month. The actress clearly hasn't got over Vivaah and her Poonam personality and neither have her fans. Amrita Rao plays safe, even sidestepping questions on when she'll sport a bikini with a "My dad used to tell me that a woman should wear a bikini the day she has a body to flaunt it. So I'm guessing the day my dad gives me the green signal, I will." And then following it up with an observation: "A bikini is just a two-piece suit that one wears to the beach. It's not a bait to get more publicity and fans." Really? Seems to work for other actresses!

Madhuri Dixit refuses offer to judge “Dance Premiere League” show

Madhuri Dixit has backed out of being a judge on the reality show “Dance Premiere League”. The channel guys were successful in roping in dance diva Madhuri Dixit to be a judge on the show. However, they were not successful in getting a nanny on the show to take care of her two sons, 24/7. Hence Madhuri decided to let the offer go. Having hosted a wedding show several years ago, this would have been a comeback for Madhuri Dixit on television. But given her priorities, she had first laid down the condition that the channel should arrange for a nanny who would stay on the sets with her children. When this condition was not fulfilled Mads left the show. Now Rani Mukerji has been called to take her place. After the failure of “Dil Bole Hadippa”, Rani does not have many projects. She wanted to try something new and this gives her a real good opportunity to make her presence felt. This also marks debut on television.

Kareena Kapoor wants to film with Kajol

Kareena Kapoor is leaving nothing to chance this time. Determined to match strides with the formidable scene-stealer Kajol in the Hindi version of "Stepmom", the actress has been quietly attending acting workshops with the film's director Siddharth Malhotra. "The last time I rehearsed for a part was for Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Omkara'. But that was a more unconventional film and role where I had to get into a milieu and character I knew nothing about. But 'Stepmom' is urban and very contemporary. I play a very normal metro-centric working girl," Kareena Kapoor told IANS. Malhotra's film is inspired by director Chris Columbus 1998 hit drama "Stepmom", a heartwarming tale of two women - divorced Susan Sarandon and the new woman (Julia Roberts) in her ex-husband's life - and the problems they face to find a common ground of understanding. And to attend the workshops, Kareena has been stealing time out of the rehearsals for a song s

'Wake Up Sid' box office

Debutant director Ayan Mukerji's charming "Wake Up Sid" about a young man and a woman five years older has not only wowed critics but pulled in the crowds too, sidelining the Govinda starrer "Do Knot Disturb". The box office received a shock with Ashutosh Gowarikar's "What's Your Raashee" that released on Sept 25 but proved to be tedious for audiences with its length and 13 songs. But the buzz is back with "Wake Up Sid", starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma, that released on Friday (Oct 2) along with "Do Knot Disturb". "'Wake Up Sid' is doing extremely well. We've had an occupancy of more than 90 percent across 17 shows over the initial weekend and it is still going strong while 'Do Knot Disturb' had only a two-day run with close to 75 percent despite 16 shows," Amit Awasthi, manager (programming and operations) of Spice Cinemas at Noida, told IANS. "We are expecting 'Wake Up S

Katrina Kaif's New look in Movie Blue

The pretty actress who always been portrayed as a girl next door, is for the first time sporting a gothic grunge look with a stud pierced below her lip, dreadlocks and tattoos all over her arms. Katrina Kaif’s look has been designed to complement Zayed’s character in the film – that of a daredevil biker. Says a source form the production team, “Katrina Kaif was extremely excited about her new look as it’s a huge contrast from her earlier roles. Katrina Kaif gave a lot of inputs and worked closely with the designers on minute details.” But one thing that gave nightmares to Katrina Kaif is her hairdo! The dreadlocks that she sports cause a lot of damage to one’s hair and Katrina Kaif was very particular about that. “She’d immediately go for a hair wash once the shoot would be over,” says a source from the team. Rocky S, who gave her the confidence to pull off the look so stunningly, is sure it will be a hit with auds.

Kareena Kapoor's treat of movies

2009 is a treat for Kareena Kapoor fans. After Kambakkht Ishq in July, the stunning leading lady has three releases back to back in the space of three months Compared to the ebullienct Jab We Met and Kambakkht Ishq, all her roles are subdued, in the sense she does not talk a lot and yet conveys enough through her eyes and expressions. She is the only actress this year to have worked with all the prominent Khans of the industry (she had an item song with SRK in Billu). Kareena looked really hot as a supermodel in Kambakkht Ishq. In Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna, which is out on October 16, the gorgeous star plays an urban wife to Salman Khan who has an affair with Sohail Khan. The actress adopted a voluptuous look in the film as she plays a Punjabi wife. The film has been shot in Australia and has been ready since a year. Director Prem Soni said, “Kareena is an extremely professional actress. Her chemistry with Salman was natural. She just moulds herself into the character. I had to work extra

Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu back together

Amitabh Bachchan has been wearing Jani and Khosla’s clothes for a while now and wife Jaya pretty much swears by their clothing. Tabu too has been an avid follower of the designer’s clothing line and it seemed only perfect to have the two walk for them for the HDIL Fashion show. The show begins on October 11th and it is also the day of Big B’s 67th birthday. The designers are ecstatic that Big B will be walking the ramp for them and told the press, ‘Mr Bachchan has been wearing our clothes for a long time now and we wanted someone who knows our clothes well. And of course, it never gets bigger than Amitabh Bachchan. Besides Mr Bachchan, Tabu is someone who has been wearing our clothes for long too.’ Tabu and Amitabh last sizzled onscreen with their performance in the hilarious romcom Cheeni Kum, audiences loved their chemistry and are waiting with bated breath to see the two together. Vipul Shah stops all publicity on Salman Khan

Vipul Shah’s London Dreams has turned into a bit of a nightmare. First, there is the Salman Khan spree of 3 back-to-back releases to be dealt with. Now, Vipul Shah has another biggie dropping into the same space. As of now Vipul has stopped all Salman Khan-centric publicity for London Dreams. The Salman Khan season has begun full swing. After the whopping Wanted, it is Salman’s home production Main Aur Mrs Khanna on October 16 followed by Vipul Shah’s London Dreams on October 30. Is this a case of Salman Khan overkill? Vipul Shah doesn’t think so. But he has put a halt to all publicity involving Salman for London Dreams until Main Aur Mrs Khanna is released on October 16. “There’s no point in a publicity overlap. I don’t want audiences to be confused or annoyed by repeated and overlapping images of Salman’s films. Fortunately for me both Wanted and Main Aur Mrs Khanna are very different from my film, and from one another. However it’s finally the same Salman. So I’d rather not waste hi
